Chapter Twenty
Couples Retreat Ending

After the lie detector situation, Janay and Axel thought it was best to let the couples go off and do their own thing for the rest of the couples' retreat.

But they did get together for dinners played games, and shared advice on how to improve their relationships.

It was the last afternoon of the couples retreat, and the girls had gathered for drinks on the beach while the guys were at the bar.

"Girl, I understand what you were trying to do, and for the most part, it worked but never again will I come on couples retreat planned by you," Trinity said as she felt drained from the couples retreat but confident in her relationship as the couples retreat comes to an end.

Janay nodded.

"I shook some relationships up with this trip but trust me when I say; I have no desire to plan any retreats for this group," Janay said.

"Girl, you came for necks on the trip. I thought everyone was going to jump after each of the activities got people in their feelings," Cardi said.

"The lie detector ruined some relationships, mainly Erica's marriage, but we know she needed to end that toxic marriage," Brooke said.

"That lie detector test was for Erica; I didn't think anyone else would be participating in it besides Erica as she already knew about it," Janay said.

"And because of that, I want you guys to know I called my lawyer, and I'm filing for divorce once we get back home," Erica announced to the girls.

"I'm so happy to hear that," Brooke said.

"I'm proud of you," Jessica said.

"It's bittersweet, but I'm happy you're putting yourself first," Nettie said.

"Yeah, after we got back to the room, he decided to say he has a baby on the way with another woman," Erica said.

"I'm gonna kill him," Cardi said.

"Nah, he ain't worth it," Erica said.

"Men like him ain't shit," Quiava said.

"I'm just going to move on and do what's best for my kids and myself," Erica said.

"Good for you. You know we're always here for you," Princess said.

"I know," Erica said.

"I have a question for Princess," Jessica said.

"What is it?" Princess asked Jessica.

"Why you ain't never tell us about your situation with Zhan's family?" Jessica asked Princess.

"Because that situation is so embarrassing, who wants to go around saying hey, my husband's family don't like me," Princess answered.

"I don't understand how money can make his family not like you," Brooke said.

"Zhan was engaged to a family friend as their parents planned it since they were kids, but she ended up cheating on him being a snake, so he called off the wedding and moved to New York, but his family feels as though they should work it out, but they are pissed he married me and think I'm a gold digger which is why we have that crazy-ass prenup," Princess explained.

"Okay, but why did you lie about money, though? Why did Zhan ask you that?" Quiava asked.

Princess sighed.

"My dad knew that Zhan's family hired a private investigator to look into my background, so to protect myself, my dad made me lie about my finances," Princess answered.

"What's going on with your finances for you to lie about it?" Nettie asked.

"Okay, you all remember when I suddenly moved away during middle school," Princess replied.

"Yeah," Cardi said.

"Well, my dad's uncle died and left everything to my father, and let's just say I'm far from needing to be a gold digger," Princess said.

"Bitch, you're rich rich," Nettie said.

"So, shouldn't that make them like you since they're all about money?" Effie asked.

"I think it's cause I'm mixed," Princess answered.
