Chapter Twenty-Two
Erica's Divorce Woes

Two days after the couples retreat, everyone returned home, and Erica immediately filed for divorce from Samuel and moved out of the house with her three kids into a condo that Princess had rented out to her.

Erica was having a hard time coming to terms with the divorce, so she invited Cardi out for lunch to talk about the divorce as Cardi did once file for divorce even though she didn't go through with it.

Cardi and Erica sat down for lunch.

"How are you doing?" Cardi asked Erica as the waiter placed their meals down and walked away from the table.

"Filing for divorce was the hardest decision to make; you know I always wanted to raise my kids with both their parents in the household because that was something I didn't have growing up," Erica answered.

Cardi placed her hand on top of Erica's hand to comfort her.

"Erica, I want you to know that your kids will respect you for doing this. I remember how much my mom suffered during her marriage with my father until his death and there were times I wanted her to leave him to save her insanity," Cardi said.

"I don't even know if I'm doing the right thing. Like, why did you marry me to do this to me? Like, why? He could have left me before we got married to be a single man but he insisted we get married and for what for the thrill of constantly cheating on me," Erica said as she teared up.

Cardi was pissed for Erica. She handed her a napkin.

"Erica, you have to take care of yourself and your children. Let him go, he showed you who was and you just have to accept it. He's not worth the heartache and stress anymore," Cardi said.

"I know but it's scary to know that I'm going to be a single mother with three kids," Erica said.

"Girl, you can do it; you were doing it while he was out cheating," Cardi said.

"You're right," Erica said.

"You just need to get in the right mindset; matter of fact, go to therapy if you need a weekend or whatever to yourself; I'll watch the kids for you,"
Cardi said.

Erica smiles.

"Thank you, Cardi," Erica said.

"Girl, you know I got you," Cardi said, smiling.
