Castiel is seated across from Dean, they don't talk. They just look at each other with loving eyes, and scared faces. Dean shakes his head and looks away, Cas knows what he is thinking. He knows Dean is trying to get Cas out of this, he is thinking of what to say to convince Crowley to get Castiel out of this. That isn't going to happen.
Crowley stands in the shadows before walking over to Cas. He sits at the table, and Castiel looks at the pentagram on the floor. A knife had been thrown onto the ring, it doesn't work anymore. Suddenly Crowley's fist swings into Cas' jawline. He hangs his head before looking up at Crowley without a word. The King hits him again and again, and Dean yells each time.
"Dean, it's alright." Castiel mumbles after the fourth time Crowley hits him. Crowley lifts his arm up to the side and Castiel lightly closes his eyes, expecting a hit, but none come. He opens his eyes to see the knife that Cas had thrown into the wall wiggle out and enter Crowley's hand.
"Crowley, you bastard!" Dean shouts over and over. There is no use. Crowley lunges the knife into Cas' stomach and laughs. Cas just takes it, because at least Dean is not hurt.
"Can you shut up the peanut gallery?" Crowley says to one of the demons. Soon Dean is gaged and watches as Castiel slowly slips through his fingers. Crowley takes Cas's arm and starts to engrave it slowly. One. Letter. At. A. Time.
"Remember when you did this Cassie? Do you remember what you carved into to me?" Castiel spits in Crowley's face and breaths heavily.
"The truth." He murmurs. Crowley fills with rage and carves another letter into his arm. To spell out infamous. Pain shoots up Castiel's arm and causes him to throw his head back. When his face is grabbed by Crowley his neck straightens and he can see Dean over the demon's shoulder.
Watching this happen and with no way to stop it, was awful. Dean watches as the knife plunges into his angel's stomach then watches as letters are carved into his arm. Dean keeps watching. He never said it, you know. Never. Castiel had said it, but not him...not Dean. And now he never will, Crowley is going to kill his love before Dean can say anything. 'I love you' is all Dean wanted to shout until Castiel understood how much. But now Cas won't know. Crowley hits Castiel across the head with the handle of the knife. Castiel leans over the arm of the chair and blood drips out of his mouth. Dean whimpers. And Crowley shoots him a devilish smile and leaves Cas's side.
Crowley takes the knife, covered in Cas's blood, and places the blade under Dean's chin. Dean glares at Crowley almost taunting him, telling him to cut him in stead of Castiel.
"Crowley," Castiel calls weakly, "over here," he takes a pause, "focus," Crowley still watches Dean, "Crowley!" Crowley leaves Dean and walks slowly to Cas.
Castiel's eyelids are heavy, each time he closes them he must force himself to open his eyes again. He closes his eyes once more then opens them slower than last. A figure stands behind Dean, an old friend. One who was missing by the time Castiel made it here.
"Tell me why I'm not hurting him." Crowley keeps eye contact with Cas and points at Dean with his knife. Castiel spits in Crowley's face again.
"That's why." Cas mumbles. Crowley shouts throwing Castiel's chair back. The steel chair slams down onto the floor and Cas rolls off. His arms are hard to move but his legs on the other hand. Castiel pushes himself back until slamming himself against the wall. Crowley bends down next to him and jabs the knife into the wall next to Cas' head. Castiel exhales loudly.
"That's not enough." Crowley whispers he turns and stands. Then marches himself over to Dean and clutches his fist. Dean falls out of the chair flinching and shouting, through the gag, in pain. Tears stream down his face and Castiel shouts at Crowley. Dean lies hopelessly on the ground, Castiel, through all his pain, crawls to Dean's side, and removes the gag from his mouth. Dean stops moving. When Cas places his head in his lap. His body is still and Crowley laughs, Castiel cries.
"No, no,no, NO! You promised me!" He shouts down to Dean, "Dean Winchester you promised me! You said you wouldn't leave me! You said that!" Castiel gets real quiet, "I love you, I love you, I love you."
Castiel cradles his head and rocks back and forth repeating the words that Dean only got to hear once. He runs his fingers through Dean's hair and places his head on the Winchester's. The words mean nothing now, at least not to Dean. To Cas however the words should be able to bend time, or change the past. Crowley laughs at the scene in front of him. A broken angel crying for a torn soul, how pathetic.
