''Good night, see you when I come by to get my bike.'' you waved him goodbye and went to turn around but a sudden grip on your wrist prevented you from doing so.

Looking at the owner of the hand that was stopping you, you quirked up a brow confused on what he wanted to say.

''Would you want to go on a date with me?'' he asked with determined eyes.

''Huh?'' did- did he just ask you out or did you just heard him wrong?

''I said- would you go on a date with me?''

''You.. want to go on a date with me?'' you asked, seeking confirmation.

It came with the form of a confident nod, accompanied by a charming smile. If you didn't know better you would have said yes in a heartbeat.

''I'm sorry Shinichiro, I'm afraid I have to decline.'' you told him and saw how his expression turned into a one of a kicked puppy.

''I-It's not you, I swear! You are an amazing person, it's just that my main priority in life right now is Ken, I.. don't want to engage in any other activities seeing that my work takes most of my time away.'' you truthfully said. 

Then his face lit up again, the same determination from a second ago coming back as if it had never left.

''Then let me court you!'' he said ''You wouldn't need to do anything. I will just try my best to gain your favor till you agree to go on a date with me.''

''But..'' you trailed off, not sure if that would be fair to him. 

''No buts! Please, let me do this!'' he tried to convince you, but you still looked doubtful. 

''Then how about this? You will give me a month to make you like me and to go on a real date with me. If by the end I fail, then I will leave you alone. Deal?'' he extended a hand for a handshake, waiting for you to make up your mind.

You sighed at his persistent attitude, but then a slight smile adorned your lips. 

''Okay deal, but I'm not guaranteeing anything.'' you finally gave in and shook his hand to seal the deal. 

''Good, now can you give me your number?'' 

''Wow, you are already starting huh?''

''Nah, that's for your bike. I need your contact so when it's ready I can give you a call.'' he said smoothly, totally not coming up with this excuse in the moment.

''Okay okay..'' you said.

And after making sure that your number was written correctly, Shinichiro threw you one of his Oscar winning smiles.

Damn, was it bright.

''Alright, thank you. I promise you, you will not regret agreeing to this!'' 

''I sure hope so too.'' you grinned right back and you thought that for a moment you saw certain redness appearing on his cheeks, but it was gone as suddenly as it came.

''Maybe, it's just the neon lightnings..'' is what you thought. 

However, the truth was that Shinichiro was actually very flustered over the whole ordeal. He didn't think that you will agree, but he was happy you proved him wrong.

He was so going to rub this in Mikey's face when he goes back home. You wouldn't get her number, he said. He smirked to himself, just imagining his younger brother's stunned face.
