Chapter 16

PREVIOUSLY

''What do you think? Like it?'' he questioned as he crossed his arms at his chest.

''..Yeah, I love it. Thank you again.'' you breathed out.

''No problem.'' he said as he took a step forward and wrapped an arm around you.

Yeah, you guess you could get used to this.

''Let's go on a date!''

''Sure.''

''...You sure do sound enthusiastic, nee-san.'' said Ken as he just stared at Shinichiro's happy form next to you.

''Well, I've kind of gotten used to his impulsive decisions when it comes to dates or such.'' you shrugged in response.

''Pff haha, nii-san, you look like Mikey when he gets his flags on kiddie meals.'' Emma chimed in, amused at her brother's behavior.

''Don't compare me to Shin, Emma! After all, I am way cooler than him.'' gloated Mikey.

''You little gremlin, stop implying I am lame! In front of Y/n even more so!'' Shinichiro groaned in exasperation.

Okay, let me explain how this situation came to be.

You and Ken were just strolling around, during one of your bonding hang outs, doing whatever came to mind first. In this case, searching for some parts for his bike because apparently he wanted to upgrade it himself, completely on his own.

You asked him before going out and he only responded with:

''I just want to do it. Are you doubting me and my skills?'' 

And you never spoke up about it again. 

It wasn't like you were actually doubting his skills or something, no. You just thought it was very out of the blue for him to do that, because he usually gave his bike to professionals to do it for him, trusting them better than himself not to screw up.

However, it seems that he had changed his mind.

And you went along for a few reasons. 

First, you and him both wanted to spend time with each other. Second, you were more familiar with the specific parts that he wanted. And third, you are his wallet for this one.

His reasoning and excuse? Mikey.

And you completely and wholeheartedly understood the pain of being Mikey's wallet for dorayaki and other sweets, knowing very well only from Shin's crestfallen expression while recalling these moments he was used for this sole purpose.

You only patted your brother's shoulder in support. As he nodded back in broke.

And while you were on your way back as you both finished choosing and paying, you came across a very interesting sight.

Shinichiro walking with his hands full with grocery shop's bags filled to the brim, all the while having his two younger siblings climb him like he is some type of a monkey bar. His blank but somehow fond expression saying that this has, indeed, happened before.

Stopping in your tracks, you all just stared at one another. 

Some carrying motorbike's parts and a bit dirtied in oil, other being used as a tree by monkeys and some being the said monkeys carrying food.

You all took it in stride and decided to hand out together for a bit. 

And you finally met Emma. That was maybe the highlight out of everything as she was just extremely cute. You had to hold back your squeals when she blushed at Ken. It was so adorable.
