A/N: My friends! What can I say? Firstly, I appreciate you being so, so patient with me throughout this writing process. I cannot thank you enough for standing by my side and being a fan of my writing. Forever loving you all.
Secondly, I may very well one day publish this novel. However today (and likely any day in the near future) is not the day. I want to give this to you all too much to frustrate myself with draft after draft. In the future, I may expand upon this book, but right now it is yours to read and (hopefully) love.
Without further ado- please enjoy!
Adam and I hadn't spoken in almost a week. I hadn't been avoiding him, but I couldn't say the same for the reverse.
Of course, frat life and football keeps him pretty busy, but Chace is working around the same schedule and I've gotten some quality time with him in. I think he would've pressed the issue last week if he hadn't see how dejected I was after my meeting with Adam. Just like I wanted he wrapped me up in his strong arms and held me against his sturdy chest while I cried. Adam dropped me off, but he hadn't even bothered to come inside.
After last Friday's disaster Chace thinks it's better that we stay inside this weekend. As much as I want to tell him I'm fine and send him off to party, I can't bring myself to do it. I don't want to be alone.
"Tell me why you and Chace aren't coming out again?" Aaron asks while holding up two different shirts to his torso.
"The light blue, looks good with your eyes," I advise before releasing a heavy sigh, "I've got an early work shift tomorrow. Chace has a game tomorrow."
His left eyebrow quirks, "An early morning shift? You work at a bar."
And this is why I don't lie. I'm totally head ass at it. Still I roll my eyes and press on, "Tammy called an early meeting. Apparently there's been some problem with sharing tips."
"Riiiiiight," he totally doesn't believe me, but as predicted his distaste for my boss is distraction enough, "Tammy would ruin a good night out. I don't know what crawled up her ass and died, but she better take it out soon."
"Or what?"
"Or I'll make you quit," he flashes me his trademark, shit eating grin.
"Oh sure," my eyes roll hard to the back of my head, "I'll totally quit 'cause you don't like my boss."
"As any best friend should."
His statement ends the conversation, punctuation by him starting to strip out of his clothes. I flop back onto his cozy bed to give him a little privacy. It's not like Aaron and I haven't seen each other naked before, but it's nice to keep a modicum of decency between. Besides if there's one thing I know about Aaron it's that he goes commando under his sweats and I'm so not in the mood to see his cock today.
A knock sounds at his door and before either of us can say 'come in' it's being swung open. Chace stands at the doorway, staring down at the DVDs in his hands. His brows are furrowed and he's got a look of intense concentration on his face. I've seen this look a million times before, he's going to ask me to watch an action movie and he's preparing to fight about it.
Only when he finally gathers the courage and looks up at us he's greeted to Aaron standing buck-naked by his closet.
"Woah!" Chace shouts, covering his eyes with the DVD cases, "Give a guy some warning."
"It's not like you waited for us to say come in."
At the sound of my voice, he drops his arms and eyeballs me. He's purposely not looking in Aaron's direction, but I can tell he's straining not to glance over. Someone standing naked, and proud in Aaron's case, is sort of like a train wreck, it's hard to look away.
