(Back home) "I'm back, mom," I said. "Hey, honey! Did you see your sister? Is she in good shape?" Mom came over and asked all those questions rapidly. "Did she eat her meals everyday? Is she studying hard?" "Yes, yes, yes, and yes. She said to not let you worry about her. She's in total control of herself." I replied to all her questions calmly. "That's nice," she told me, then went back to the chores. "I'm going out," I said. Then I opened the door.
I stepped onto the sand. The squishy, soft sand was my favorite part of the ocean. Even though I like the water, I like sand more. I'm really into sea animals, and I used to come here with my sister and mom when we're small. I built sandcastles all the time, and I study the animals. They are nature, and I like nature. I think it was because of dad that I like nature so much. He's a marine biologist, since he studies ocean animals and he is finding out a way to save the animals from extinction. I think that's what I would want to become.. Someone like him one day. But... His job makes it harder to come home. I have a sister, so I was not really lonely during that time... But still, I miss him. Whenever I think about animals I thought of dad. "Other kids are like that too, Carson. You are not alone because kids all over is like you. So don't worry, okay? Dad will be back." Mom always says that when I tell her I miss dad. Then I realize I just stood there in the sand for a long time like an idiot... So I walked a few steps towards the water, and stood there again, feeling the cold ocean water.
"Everything always feels so fresh and easy at the beach..." I thought, as I walked back to my house after I made a sandcastle at the beach. "But I wish I had somebody to make a sandcastle with, since sister isn't here..." I took a last glance at the ocean, then walked in the house.
Hey guys... Sorry if Gemma and Carson is hard to tell apart.... Gemma is a girl and she will be in the next two chapters. Carson will appear after Gemma's two chapter.
