We headed back without saying a word to each other, the sun was past noon and the sky became orange. I put my ice cream away and we headed into my room, the house was cold and quiet... almost dead. Mirio watched my TV and I sat on my bed almost crying. My arms shivered and my breaths shook, my family was really gone. I was hoping it was all a bad dream... that none of it ever happened. I sniffled quietly but not quietly enough, Mirio turned around and sat next to me.

"Hey, what's wrong? Tamaki isn't gonna be gone forever, he'll be back before you know it."

I wiped the corner of my eye, "That's not the problem... I miss my mom... my d- dad... my gran... grand- grandma..." My voice began to break like broken glass.

I bursted into tears.

Mirio put an arm around me and whispered, "It's okay... it's gonna be okay..."

He began to cry too. I guess he misses Nighteye more than it seems like, he cried quietly. I gripped onto his shirt and bit my lip, I was getting angry again and wanted to scream... but there would be no point. It wouldn't bring them back and I knew that too well. I got up and wiped my tears, and looked at him, "Maybe we shouldn't have come back..."

"Maybe... I miss him..."

"There's still time to catch up with them but I don't have the power to get to them..." I sat back down sighing and turning my TV on.

Mirio grabbed two controllers, "Let's play some video games like we used to do... just something to do to pass time."

We played some random video games and eventually felt cheery again, we also bought some new games to try out when the others get back. He made jokes from time to time, he was returning to his normal self... my heart still felt weak but I slowly felt better. If only Tamaki were here. It shouldn't be much longer, I do hope he returns safely. I wonder what La'Nya and Sunshine are doing with Nejire... they're probably out eating and hanging out at stores... hopefully La'Nya doesn't feel left out. Mirio...

"Mirio?"

"Hmm?" He put the controller down and looked over at me.

I chuckled and scratched my neck, "Thanks... for staying with me."

"Of course... as I said, I'll always be here for you."

"I know... I just wanted you to know."

He smiled and we turned back to the TV. I had to use the restroom a few minutes later and he took a break. I started washing my hands and someone started calling me, it was an unknown number, I quickly dried them off with my quirk and answered it.

"Hello?"

I responded hesitantly, "Hi? Who is this?"

"It's Tamaki... I found a payphone."

"Tama?! Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?"

"Not too much, your grandmother... is p-pretty rough."

"Is she putting you through some training or something? How do you know you were supposed to stay there?"

He hesitated, "I... your mom, she gave m-me a letter before we left."

"And you didn't tell me?"

"She said not to."

"Oh... um, anyway... where have you been sleeping?"

"Near the spring, not in plain sight though."

"Good."

We stayed quiet for a few moments, I could hear the bugs through the phone. The breeze was silent but existent.

"I m-miss you, Tiru."

I blushed and smiled, "I miss you too... come back soon."

"I'll try to."

"Talk to you later?"

"Ah, wait... is there anyone else with you?"

I gasped and got out of the restroom, "mirio, Tamaki's on the phone... wanna talk to him?"

"Yeah!" He jumped up and I handed it the phone.

I kept playing video games as they spoke, We haven't seen each other in a week and there's already so much to talk about... it seems kind of sad. To me at least.

After 10 minutes, Mirio handed me my phone and I held it to my ear, "Yeah?"

"I... uh, I'll see you late this week."

"Okay, I lov- uh- I mean... see you later."

"Haha, goodbye." I could feel his smile through the phone and he hung up.

"He seems to be okay..."

I smiled, "Yeah."
