Lily POV

I am eating breakfast at my father's home like always since he is a police commissioner, and I am a bartender at a strip club. I say that because of our schedules. Abel Delgado, or Abby, as I call him, is a proud Afro-Dominican man from Louisiana, the greatest police commissioner ever, the greatest cop ever, the toughest Gargarean (male version of an Amazon), and the greatest dad anyone would be lucky to have. My father is 24 in paranormal years, but is 77 in human years. While I am 5'10, with golden brown skin, black eyes, a pear-shaped body, big booty, big boobs, straight nose, concave stomach, black curly bob with side bangs, and heart-shaped lips; Abby looks like me if I was a 6'4 man and built like a superhero.

Abby was a human who served in Vietnam, while he was in Vietnam for four years, he met some Gargareans. They found him worthy, and turned him into one of them. 22 years ago, Abby asked the Gods for purpose in his life. One created me from his blood, and handed little baby me to him, and told him New York, and I was his purpose.

Abby was my first word, and my nickname for him, since I couldn't say Daddy. When I was five, I asked him why I didn't have a mother like other kids. He told me the story, he even told me that he fell in love with me the first time he saw identical eyes looking at him. Abby can be overprotective at times, but I am all he has.

I am a bartender with a psychology degree working at a strip club called Inferno. He still doesn't approve of me working at a strip club, even after I promised him that I wasn't a stripper. I haven't told him that my boss has been trying to seduce me for the last four years. Richard Carter is a 221-year-old vampire lord/newborn who has been sending me a bouquet of lilies every day. He is 6'2, lean, muscular, very handsome in a pretty boy kind of way, a nice line-up, black claws, and pecan brown skin. I have successfully ignored all his advances by acting oblivious. Carter has a sexy body due to watching him strip on occasion. Abby warned me that workplace romance can get messy, I don't want to piss off the guy who can fire me. Carter told me straight up that I wasn't his Bride. He is scheming, cunning, arrogant, flirty, strong-willed, and ruthless. Every time he flirts with me or tries to seduce me, he comes on too strong.

I have worked in Inferno since I was 18, and I like being a bartender there. Compared to other strip clubs, Inferno was a 5-star hotel. Inferno even has a gaming area with all the latest games. There are 20 male strippers, 20 female strippers, 4 bouncers, 10 servers, 5 security guards, 1 DJ, 6 bartenders, 1 chef, and 1 dishwasher.

"How is work, Liliana?" ask Abby while eating his breakfast. "Work is great. We are hiring two new dancers," I replied. He grunted, thinking that I should have been a shrink after he shut down my career choice in becoming a cop. "How was work, Abby?" I asked. My father is very vague about work, he wants it separate from home. "Work is fine, Liliana. I brought you a gift," he pulled out a Duffel bag and placed it on the table. I got up to look inside, and inside was an automatic crossbow. "Dad, where did you get this crossbow?" I asked in a nervous tone. "Think of it as your shotgun, keep it inside your home," Abby says, ignoring my question. Bullets and arrows won't kill a paranormal with fast healing abilities, but it would hurt like hell. "Thanks, Abby," I said as he kissed my forehead.
