A Forbidden Love

Chapter 4

Caleb's POV:

Indeed these rogues were different. I was certainly surprised to find they were peaceful. And that one was human. But, I welcomed them into my pack anyway. Why? Because I know from experience you can't judge a book by it's cover. My Luna, Natalie used to be a rogue. But, she wasn't at all what I expected. What I had heard about rogues. She was nice, caring, strong, and just plain wonderful. At first, I was debating about making her my luna, but, I finally made her Luna and never regretted it. I had heard of this boy's pack before and was curious about why he was kicked out. I doubted that the Silver Star Pack would kick out their own future Alpha without a good reason. But somehow, I guessed that it was because of Angela. After a few minutes of letting them get settled, Natalie and I went to see how they were doing. But, when we were about to knock when the door was yanked open suddenly. Before we could say hello Angela burst into tears saying that her mate Oliver had collapsed. I rushed into where Angela said she laid him and picked him up carefully. I hurried over to the hospital. Natalie and Angela followed. Angela wanted to go with Oliver, but the doctor told her she couldn't. Natalie and I tried out best to comfort the girl, but it didn't go so well. I could tell, that their mate bond was strong. Finally, the doctor came in and said we could see him. Angela was the first one out of her chair. She rushed past us and straight into his room. "He is going to be fine. He is just very weak from lack of food and sleep. And it looks as if he was recovering from this condition as well. He is also suffering from a fever." he told us. Angela looked relieved as she look up at him. "Thank you, sir. Thank you so much Alpha Caleb for helping him." she gratefully said. She was sitting beside Oliver's bed holding his hand. "Your welcome, miss." the doctor replied and left the room. "Angela, do you know why he wasn't eating or sleeping?" I asked. She nodded and answered, "After we were kicked out by his pack and entered rogue territory, he did everything he could and more to protect me. I didn't realize, that he was giving up sleep to guard me..And unfortunately he didn't get much food when he hunted. He gave most of what he got to me..he insisted although I protested. He's pretty stubborn I guess.." she looked back at her sleeping mate. "We really are grateful to you for giving us a place to stay. We have been through so much.." she told us. My Luna smiled and put her hand on her shoulder. "We are glad to have you as our guests, dear." "Angela, I'll understand if you don't want to talk about it. But do you know why Oliver was kicked out of his pack?" I asked her. She looked back at Oliver, tears rolling down her pale cheeks. "It was because of me.." Her answer startled me and Natalie look equally shocked. "What happened, Angela?" she asked. "His father kicked him out because I'm human and a daughter of a hunter..Oliver and his father argued and screamed. I was lying in Oliver's bed flashing back to-" Angela stopped suddenly.  "What is it, Angela?" Angela hesitated as if trying to decide whether she could trust us or not. Finally she made up her mind and went on. She told us that her father beat her. That he screamed and shouted at her constantly. She said that her father had kicked her out and she had been homeless for a couple weeks until Oliver found her and took her home. He and his mother and friends took care of her.  When the Alpha of Oliver's pack stood entered the room, and started yelling, she got brought back to the horrible past she had with her father. "I was going to leave and have Oliver stay, but he wouldn't let me. He told his father that he was going with me and that he was ashamed of him and didn't deserve to be called Alpha. I was honestly shocked that a famous Alpha like Allen Stevens would act like that. He is normally very nice. But, I suppose anybody could act like that from time to time. "Are you sure about that one?" my wolf asked. "No I'm not sure, Kota. I'm not sure. But for now, we can't dwell on that. We need to take care of this young couple." A few days later, we were able to take Oliver home. Angela seemed to take good care of him. Although he protested about being bedridden, Angela managed to get him into the bed. Natalie and I helped as best we could at times but mainly it was Angela. She's going to be a great mate. She's so caring. Oliver wasn't happy about his mate taking care of him, he wanted to take care of her. It was pretty funny to watch Angela get Oliver into his bed. Well, after a few weeks Oliver was completely better. I was happy to see them happy. And so was my little Butterfly. Yes, I call Natalie Butterfly. Well, they had stayed with us for about six months after that, when I got a letter from Oliver's old pack.

                                                  Dear Alpha Caleb,

                                   My name is Allen. I am the Alpha of the Silver Star Pack.

                              I know you have been sheltering a hunter's daughter. And her mate.

                       I want you to hand the girl over to me so I can dispose of the human properly.

                                      If you do not, my pack will attack yours and get what we want.

                                        We will get the girl either way. She will die.

I didn't tell Oliver or Angela about it. I wasn't going to tell Natalie but she managed to get me to tell her what was bothering me. "What do you plan to do, Caleb?" she asked me. "I have already given the order for Damien to begin training to men harder for battle." She nodded. "I only hope I made the right decision.." "I think you did, darling. Your doing all you can to protect them. It's wring to kill her just because she's human, and you know it." "It's also wrong for him to kill her just because she's a hunter's daughter. I know she couldn't have done anything to harm anyone, much less kill them! She's sweet, kind, and caring. She's not a hunter." "I know, Caleb." My mate smiled. "Now, I have something I want to tell you." "Alright.  What is it?" I asked. "Well, I've been spending some time with your mother and we both agree. I went to the doctor to confirm our suspicions, Daddy." "What were you suspicions?" I asked totally not taking my wife's hint. She looked at me like I was stupid. "What?!" I asked. "Well, daddy," she tried again, "I was thinking we could get some baby clothes and such." "Why?" This time she slapped me. "Seriously, Caleb?! I'm pregnant!" This time I got it. "What? We're going to have a baby?" She rolled her eyes at me. "Yes Caleb. We're going to have a baby." I went over to her and put my hand on hers. I was so excited! We had been trying for a baby ever since we got married. For four years we had been trying. And to be honest, we had almost given up. And now, I'm going to be a father! "I love you Natalie." I said. "I love you too." she said giving me a kiss. Over the next few days, I watched over Natalie, visited with Angela and Oliver, and trained. But, I knew that I had to tell them. They had to be on their guard every second. I didn't know when Alpha Allen would come, but I knew it could be soon. So, I told them. "What?! We have to send Angela away! Somewhere safe! I don't want her harmed!" Oliver exclaimed. "No, I'm not leaving. I want to stay here. Please Ollie?" She gave him those puppy dog eyes. "Ollie?" I raised my eyebrows. Oliver wasn't happy. He looked embarrassed. "Fine! Just don't call me Ollie ever again!" he begged. I just laughed. "I'm not sure it would be safe for her to be sent anywhere anyway. They will surely be here soon, they may find her and capture her if we did." I told them. "We will all do our best to make sure she is safe. My men are training hard." "I want to train too. I'll train harder than I've ever trained before!" "Well, I don't mind you training with us, but don't work too hard." "Yes sir." he said. I could tell Angela was uneasy about this, and also frightened at the idea of a war over her. I knew if it weren't for Oliver's holding her back, she might surrender herself over to them. But, I want to prevent that. I want to prevent a murder.
