A Forbidden Love

Chapter 7

Angela's POV: A couple months passed and I had another wonderful surprise. Oliver and I were having dinner together. Alone. He said that Rose, Max, Daniel, and Katy were having dinner with the Alpha and Luna. I guess we weren't invited or something. Well, when we were finished with dinner, we did the dishes. Then we went into the living room and watched a movie. We saw Horse Dancer. A pretty good horse movie. The surprise came after it was over. "Hey, can you put in Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Clause?" Oliver asked. I nodded and got up to put it in. It was our favorite Christmas love movie so I didn't find anything suspicious. We had our favorite ice cream while we watched the movie. I had Chocolate Moose Track ice cream and he had the same kind only vanilla. We topped them with chocolate syrup and sprinkles. Well, when Nick, the single 'santa' at the end gets down on one knee and opened up a ring box in front of the woman he loved, Oliver stood up from the couch, got down on one knee and did the same. "Angela, the past year we have gone through so much. We have gone through many trials and always got out together. Now, I'm certain we are ready. I don't want to live without you, my dear Angela. So, I ask you here and now, will you marry me?" I gasped at the beautiful ring in his hand.

It was so beautiful..it was simple, yet elegant. "Yes! Yes, I'll marry you, Oliver!" I cried and hugged him. When we finally let go, he put the ring on my finger. I couldn't wait to tell Rose and Katy. I figured Oliver wanted to tell Daniel and Max. We would tell the Alpha and Luna together. I was so happy. Nothing could take away this moment. Three months later, we were almost ready for the wedding. It was supposed to take place in one week, but a few unexpected things happened. First, Luna Natalie had her pup! Or should I say, pups! She had twins! We were all so excited and happy for her and Alpha Caleb. "Congratulations, ma'am." I said. "Thank you, my dear." she replied with a smile. "What are their names?" Rose asked. "Well, We were thinking the girl should be called, Cary." Caleb stated. "That's a lovely name." Oliver said. He had been smiling practically all the time for the past three months! Ever since I said I'd marry him. "The boy's name will be Kennith after Caleb's father." Natalie told us. "And after her grandfather." her mate pointed out, his brown eyes shining. "Wonderful names." Katy stated pushing her blackish brown hair back. Well, a few days after that, I went outside to water some flowers Oliver and I had planted, when I saw something I thought I'd never see. I saw Alpha Allen, Oliver, and my father. Alpha Allen had returned, I guess. And he was arguing with Oliver. They didn't see my father coming up behind them with a gun. I jumped and pushed his gun aside just as he shot it. It was aimed at Alpha Allen. "W-what happened??!" he stammered. "This good for nothing little brat saved your pathetic life! But this time I won't miss!" He aimed his gun at Oliver. But before I could get the gun, he had shot it. I jumped in the way, getting hit with a bullet meant for the man I love. Before I knew it, I was on the ground in Oliver's arms. Alpha Allen just stared at me in bewilderment. "Alpha..father..I forgive you..Oliver, I love you...Please, don't blame yourself.. for this..." I said just before everything went dark.

Oliver's POV:

I was furious. When Angela went unconscious I put her head on the ground and stood up facing her father. "I don't need any forgiveness. That idiot girl was always out of her mind. Now, I'll just take out you out of your misery, Wolf!" he exclaimed pointing his gun at me again. I let my wolf take over. "You.almost.killed.our.mate. Your lucky she's still alive. But, if she dies, you'll wish you were never born!" I heard Gray yell before I felt myself shifting. My wolf growled and jumped on him. He bit his arm while Angela's father tried to shake us off. But, we were too angry to let him go. "Son, Alpha Caleb is coming!" I heard my father call out to me. Soon, Alpha Caleb appeared. My wolf let go and Angela's father fell to the ground. Yes, we beat him up that much. But can you blame us? He nearly murdered Angela! And tried to murder my father. "Damien. Hayden. Take this man and put him in the prison. We shall deal with him later." Alpha Caleb commanded his Beta and his Gamma. "Oliver, shift back. We need to get Angela to the hospital and I doubt you want one of us to take her." He was talking about himself and father I'm sure, and he was right. I nodded and shifted and Gray gave me back control. I refused to let Father or Alpha Caleb take her. I took her carefully in my arms and we rushed to the hospital as fast as we could. I was mad that I couldn't go with her.While we were waiting, my father took me aside and said, "Son, I'm sorry. You...were right. She is different..I know now that I was just being a stubborn, old fool. Please, Oliver, will you forgive me and come back home with your mate?" I smiled and gave my father a hug. "I forgive you, dad. But, I'll come home, if Angela agrees." I saw a look in his eyes that had the one question I didn't even want to think about. But he didn't say it. He just smiled, nodded and sat back down in the chair beside Daniel. Daniel, Rose, Max, and Katy had heard the shots and came running out in time to see me trying to tare Angela's father to pieces. Finally, after several hours, the doctor appeared. He told us that they had done all they could do. He said that surgery had went well, but now we had to give her time. Time to heal. "All we can do is wait and see." the doctor said. We all nodded and thanked him. But I didn't like what he said next. "I suggest you all go home and get some rest. I shall call you if there is any change." "But-" I protested but Alpha Caleb interrupted. "Yes, Benjamin. Thank you. I shall come back later just to check, however. Is that alright with you?" I growled lowly and my father gave a me look that I knew meant "Stop". "Yes, Alpha. That will be fine. Good day." With that I was grabbed by my dad and we left the hospital. Although I was fighting to be let go all the way to my guest house. "Good night, Oliver. I'm sorry. I truly hope Angela recovers soon. This will be sad news to break to my butterfly.." Alpha Caleb said as I was dragged into the house. My dad, Max, and Daniel took me into Angela's room. I told them if they were going to put me in a room, put me in her room. "Son, I truly am sorry. I hope she gets well soon.." my father said before my door was shut. I heard them lock it so I wouldn't get out and sneak over to the hospital and into Angela's room. I went over to Angela's nightstand. My angle..That's what she was to me. An angle. I picked up a picture of Angela and I and looked at it, crying. Then, I just started singing a song from Calum Scott called, You Are the Reason. She was the reason my father and I are still alive...I cried myself to sleep that night. I cried almost all night. I cried hard..."Why wasn't I able to protect her?? Why?!" I thought to myself.
