ANOTHER HEART-WRENCHING SCREAM FELL FROM LOGAN'S LIPS AND CARLISLE WAS BY HIS SIDE ALONG WITH SAM AS THE FAE COLLAPSED TO HIS KNEES. Screams and cries left Logan's lips as Sam held him tightly to his chest. Seth bowed his head as he placed Astrid on the ground before coming to stand by Leah and the rest of the pack.

Bella shut her eyes, keeping her head in Edward's chest as she listened to Logan's screams. And Edward just held her - his eyes not leaving as the Fae broke down in front of them all.

Demetri held onto Alec, keeping him from running to Logan while Jane just looked at the scene shocked. This wasn't supposed to happen, only the Cullen's and the human were meant to get hurt or even killed - not this.

"Please - no, Sam - she can't be!" Logan cried and Sam shushed his friend watching with Sad eyes as Logan let his finger graze off Astrid's cold cheek. "Mom please, mom! Come on!"

"Logan - she's gone." Carlisle whispered, but the Fae shook his head wildly, crawling towards his mother's corpse.

"No, she's not!" Logan yelled before another cry left his lips as he brought his mother's bloody body into his arms - slowly rocking back and forth. "Come on, momma please...you can't be gone - not now."

"Logan." All of the creatures turned at the new voice and a woman walked forward from out of a portal. Her hair was messy with dreadlocks and paint-spattered over her dark-colored skin. "She's gone, child - you know dis." Her accent flittered through the air as she crouched down beside the boy she had known all of his life.

"Daria - she can't be-" He cut himself off, and the woman - Daria - smiled sadly. "Please, don't make me say it."

"Logan, she has joined your father now and she is at peace. You have to let her go." Daria whispered, threading her ring-covered fingers through Logan's inky locks.

"I can't -" But Daria cut him off, placing a finger on his lips. Her other hand leaned down to the face of her now dead friend - sliding her hand over Astrid's eyes to shut them. "No..."

"Hush now child, she is with Octavian now." The newcomer muttered, as she slowly pulled Logan away from his mother. "She's gone, Logan."

Daria turned to Sam and the pack. "Come, we will take her to your reservation." She knew Logan needed to let out his anger and she didn't want the spirit warriors hurt - the vampires could handle their own. With a wave of her hand, another portal appeared. "Let us go, now."

Logan didn't even move as the pack leaned down to gently lift Astrid. He did move however when her necklace began to slip and his hand snapped up to catch it.

The Fae stared down at the blood cover piece of silver - his body shaking. His eyes shut and he brought the necklace to his mouth - shaky breaths leaving his lips.

"I should have never trusted you." It was a harsh whisper that echoed through the quiet clearing. And everyone's eyes fell to the Fae king who slowly rose to his feet - necklace still in hand. "I should have never come back to Forks."

"Logan-" Alec went to speak, but he stopped when his mate turned to face him and Alec's dead heart broke.

Logan's face was stained with tears and his eyes were red from crying.

"I trusted you, Alec. I gave you the benefit of the doubt - I invited you into my home, my family, and now-" Logan let out a deep shaky breath, looking at the ground.

"Logan-"

"SILENCE!" Everyone jumped at his voice. His eyes were electric blue, but the pupil wasn't round - no instead it was sharp like cats and the whites of his eyes was a light blueish gray. "I don't want your apologies, I don't want your excuses." He snarled, storming over to tower over the vampire. Felix moved to defend him when a tree root wrapped around him keeping him in place. Jane went to move as well - but Demetri held her back with a glare and for once, Jane kept silent.

Because she knew this was all her fault.

"The only reason you are still alive right now is that even after what you did to me - I still love you. But I want nothing to do with you. You have done the one thing that no one has ever done." Logan leaned forward - face inches away from Alec, who looked ready to cry. "You broke me, Alec."

"Logan." Bella walked forward, placing a hand on his arm. "Think about this please." She knew that Alec had hurt him, and hell she wanted nothing more than to kill the male witch twin. But she also knew the pain that came with being separated from a mate. And she didn't want Logan to feel the pain of losing a mate and losing his mother.

"No, Bella." He brushed her off. "Alec Volturi - I never want to see you again. Leave now, before I forget that you are my mate." And with that Logan's wings tore through his shirt and he was gone - leaving the field in a blur.

And Alec ran in the opposite direction.

Only two more chapters and then it will be time for Breaking Dawn.
