She pushes her worn out glasses back up the bridge of her nose
Her eyes skimming every detail of the novel
Never once does she look up at the passersby
For it takes her away from the far off kingdomShe imagines a world full of knights and crusades
Where war wages when peace falls a stray
Dragons oozing fire to protect the princess
Witches and goblins holding the innocent captiveIt is funny to think that a parallel dimension
Can be created on a blank piece of parchment
Wherein the curious take the opportunity
To live in a world full of possibilitiesCall her a daydreamer
That is exactly what she is
She dream for something more
More than a life in modern realityThere comes a time when she feels it by her side
As if both worlds would collide
Slowly it slips from her fingertips
Leaving nothing but a broken dreamCall her a daydreamer
Dreams do come true
But until then
These pages will have to do
