I look over the horizon hoping it is only a delay
The vivid colored memories now turning grey
At dusk did he bid ado
As if our dreams were not about to come true
He says he had a vision to live under water
I though it was ludicrous so why even bother
He told me he had a mission to complete
Apparently it had nothing to do with me
His shocking revelation made me open my eyes
He was a free man
It took some time to realize
That I can not hold him back in this dull lifeless land
I let him go and live his dream my smile about to falter
I told him to return once the sun kisses the water
I thought it was easy or so it seemed
It is only half past midnight
Yet all I can see is the haze of the changing night
I stand alone on this dock
My mind only trying to contemplate
The only sound to be heard is the ticking clock
For it is your love I await
