"Please, let me do this." Akina pulled her hand away from Kurama.
"Akina-chan, listen!" Yusuke called out to her but she shook her head.
"I need to face her. Don't worry, if I cannot manage, I am relying on you guys." Akina smiled as she stepped forward.
"Wait! Akina! You still don't know how to use your powers! Mako will not hesitate to slaughter you." Kazeha warned Akina but she just smiled.
"Mako-san still needs me to find and activate the sphere, so she won't kill me but if things get out of hand, you guys will need to take care of her. Till then, let me tire her out." Akina pursed her lips as she drew out her bow and arrow.
"Ha! In your current state, do you really think you can slow me down? Even back then, all you could do was watch me kill that human with no effort! Admit it Akina! You are useless." Mako mocked her as she made a glowing flame appear in her hand.
"You are right, I am quite weak but that does not mean I cannot stop you. Mako-san, we need to put an end to this." Akina said calmly.
Mako suddenly growled. She had never expected Akina to be calm.
I feel so much calmer. I see, back then I always felt alone, I felt I had to everything on own but now... that's right.... Now, I know I am not alone.
She aimed the arrow when Mako suddenly vanished from the spot but this time Akina did not falter, she closed her eyes and aimed and released the arrow.
"Ha! Do you really think that would work?" Mako suddenly appeared behind her.
Suddenly the blue flame arrow hit her in the back as she suddenly fell down in shock. Akina stepped back as she aimed another arrow at Mako.
"I have been learning to use my spiritual powers you know, thanks to everyone here. They know everything about me but they still accept me. Mako-san, I am no longer fighting alone." Akina said calmly.
"Heh... it doesn't matter, I can still beat you and take you with me, once we activate the sphere, we can finally take over everything and destroy it." Mako laughed as she jumped up.
"We?" Akina faltered when suddenly Mako punched her and pushed her to the ground.
"Oh, you dont know do you? Did you think I was alone when I betrayed the queen? There other half demons like me who were not happy. The stupid empire went about maintaining peace and balance when we had the power to take over the world!" Mako laughed.
Akina managed to kick Mako off her while she sat up on her knees.
"There were others?" Kazeha asked surprised.
"Not everyone one of the half Tenko demons were like you, stupidly loyal to the queen. Do you even know the way people looked at us?" Mako glared at her.
"Don't make things up Mako! Even if there were people in the empire who despised us, our queen looked after us like her own child! She was different from all the other rulers we had! SHE VALUED EACH OF US!" Kazeha yelled out.
"Kazeha-onee-san." Akina looked at Kazeha who had tears in her eyes.
"Queen was even good to other demons and she also forgave the one who betrayed her! Even in her last moment! She did not want revenge! She just wanted to make sure you were able to have your hatred finished! She just wanted your happiness!" Kazeha screamed as she wiped her eyes.
Akina's eyes softened when Mako started to laugh.
"And that softness is what got her! Not want revenge? That is like her. Stupid woman, especially, when she knew that I killed the man she loved so dearly!" Mako announced while laughing with mirth.
"Eh?"
"That's right Akina, you father, I killed him. He also was a trusting fool, his death was the one that helped me trigger the fall of the Tenko empire. Your parents were travelling back from the demon realm, we planted an ambush to kill all 3 of you, especially since you were still in her womb but your stupid father protect you and your mother although it delayed our plans, the queen went into early labor and had you." Mako smiled as she looked at Akina.
"Even that time you interfered, Yoko Kurama." Mako turned to Kurama whose eyes widened.
"............." Kurama remained silent.
"Did you forget about the Tenko mother daughter duo, you saved back then, you know they were didn't you?" Mako smirked.
"Kurama, what is she talking about?" Yusuke asked feeling confused.
"Back in my bandit days, while trying to find the Tenko empire, I ran into the queen who had just delivered her daughter. Her powers were out of control and it did not help that her daughter was like a beacon to other demons. I still don't know why, but I decided to save them... But somehow... I still managed to gain her most precious treasure. It is none other than you, Akina" Kurama looked at Akina with a smile.
"Eh?" Akina blushed.
"Hmmm.... Let me guess, the queen's kindness won your cruel heart over? Well, it does not matter, Akina is not going to be alive either ways." Mako turned to Akina who became alert.
"I won't let you have me. I finally have people who want me around, I finally know what its like to me loved. You can never have me"! Akina managed to call out of ropes of blue flame.
"What! You should not be able to use that!" Mako snarled.
"Thanks to my soul splitting, I am able to use some of the powers that she once used." Akina threw the ropes which bound Mako at her spot.
"Do you really think this will stop me?" Mako growled when Akina aimed her arrow.
"No! But I think it will slow you down enough!" Akina released the arrow which engulfed Mako into flames.
Akina sighed as she watched the flames engulfed Mako who was screaming in pain. Suddenly the flames extinguished, when Mako, unharmed rushed at her and grabbed her by her throat.
"Did you really think you would be able to purify me!? Ha?! DO YOU REALISE THAT I AM JUST EVIL NOT POSSESSED BY EVIL!" Mako shouted as she threw Akina against the wall.
"AKINA!" Kurama was about to rush into the fight when a barrier stopped him.
He turned to Akina who was getting up. When Mako grabbed her head and crashed it into the wall. Akina managed to push Mako away as she stood up trembling.
"This time, I will make sure I finish you." Mako grabbed Akina by her collar.
"You can never have me Mako-san. I won't let you." Akina grabbed Mako's hand when she screamed and pushed Akina away.
Mako looked at her hands in shock. It was covered in bright blue flames, she gritted her teeth as the pain spread up her arms. She glared at Akina.
"What did you do?!?" Mako screamed at her.
"I had to be sure. Your evilness had to either be from possession or innate. If it was possession, the arrow would have saved you but if its innate, I need to use the blue flames... I cannot just let you be." Akina panted.
"I will never let you go! I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU! I will have your blood!" Mako managed to extinguish the flames and rushed at Akina while producing a spear.
Akina tried to dodge the spear which creased across her arm. Akina fell to the ground as Mako looked at her in triumph.
"Now I shall have you!" Mako raised her spear.
"NO! AKINA!" Kurama managed to break out of the barrier when he stopped in shock.
Mako's eyes widened as she froze with the spear held midway. Akina had grabbed the spear by her bare hand. Blood dripped down her palm towards her elbow and down the ground.
A smirk graced Akina's lips. She then looked at Mako who trembled on seeing the cold silver eyes.
"The Tennyo soul." Yusuke whispered.
"Nice to see you again Mako." Akina pushed Mako away while disposing the spear.
"No... No... You should have been sealed away! No!" Mako took a step back.
"Ah... Well thanks to your demon minions attacking, there have been cracks in the seal, at least now, I appear when I feel Akina is in a crisis, after all, she still cannot use all of her powers yet." Akina dusted her self and wiped the blood from her split lip.
"No... No... you cannot use that power! What if Akina tried to kill herself again?" Mako faltered.
"Ah... I have no worries about that, after all.... There are people who will do anything in their power to save her." She eyed Kurama.
She turned to Mako and smirked.
"Well, how about I show you a fraction of the real Tennyo power before this idiot decides to spare you?" Akina raised her hand.
The air crackled as the placed filled with the smell of ozone and strands of lightening began to appear from the ground.
"I should make this special for you." Akina smiled slyly.
"No way! Is she going to use that?!?" Kazeha suddenly became terrified.
"What do you mean?" Hiei asked as he watched the display of power.
"It's a really powerful move.... I have only seen murals of it in the kingdom. The power calls forth the energy from the sky and it focuses it all, burning and destroying the target both body and soul." Kazeha shivered.
The atmosphere got heavier as lightening began to strike the ground and the air crackled with ozone and light.
"Heaven's decision!" Akina suddenly released the lightening towards Mako who tried to dodge the attack when blue flame ropes wrapped around her and restricted her.
Mako's eyes widened as the lightening struck her making her scream out in pain.
Akina smirked when she faltered. She raised her hand to her chest as she grunted in anger. Akina then fell to her knees as the atmosphere cleared.
She was panting as Kurama quickly reached her side and held her in his arms as she leaned onto against him. She was terribly injured, her right eye was swollen and her forehead was bleeding. She was bruised everywhere while blood clotted at her lip. A gash was on her chest which seemed to have stopped bleeding. She was looking at the smoke which surrounded Mako.
"Is she okay?" Akina asked worried, as the silver eyes were replaced by her warm chocolate eyes.
Kurama kissed her forehead as he felt a surge of love for her. Despite being treated so badly, she still had compassion for Mako.
The fog cleared as Mako, who was badly injured glared at Akina while clutching her arm which was bleeding.
"How dare you?! How dare you?!" Mako raised her hand when Yusuke fired his spirit beam at her which hit her squarely.
"You will not touch her anymore." Yusuke stood in front of Akina while Hiei got ready to release the Jao ensatsu and Kuwabara had his Rei-Ken ready.
Mako was about to attack then suddenly a red light appeared around her.
"Tch... This is not the last time we meet. I will not let you go next time!" Mako swore as they vanished.
Akina panted as she closed her eyes feeling exhausted as Kurama held her close. Kazeha placed her hand over Akina as a gentle blue light, took over her body.
"I cannot heal her to the extent she can but she will recover better." Kazeha said softly as Akina sighed in peace.
"I am fine Kazeha-onee-san. Sorry, I made you all worry." Akina apologised as she smiled.
"Hm. Stupid girl... But we knew you would be fine." Hiei glanced at her as she smiled.
"Well, let get you home." Kurama embraced her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Are you feeling better?" Kurama asked as he placed a glass of water next to the bed.
"Sorry I made you bring me home." Akina looked down as she winced.
"Akina, rely on me a bit more." Kurama kissed her as he caressed her cheek.
Her face instantly turned red and a small smile appeared on her lips.
"You... You have met my mother before?" Akina asked as Kurama nodded.
"Back then, I wanted to raid all the places that were deemed impossible. It was just coincidence when I ran into your mother. She had just given birth too and was too vulnerable to protect herself. I would have abandoned her but.... I... I just could not leave you both alone." Kurama looked outside her window.
"I wish I could remember it." Akina looked at her sheets when Kurama chuckled.
"I told your mother that I would help her get back if she told me how I can reach the Tenko empire and she lets me steal their most valuable treasure." Kurama turned to her as he traced her cheek with his finger.
"Eh?"
"All I want is the Tenko treasure, I am sure you can let me steal it in exchange for yours and your offspring's life." Yoko Kurama looked at the woman he had just saved.
"You can have any of the treasures of the Tenko... But I cannot give you my precious treasure. She is all I have left of her father." The queen hugged the bundle in her arms.
"Your treasure is your child." Kurama peeked into the bundle.
A black haired baby lay asleep as it brought its fist to its mouth. It was extremely tiny but he could already feel the aura around her.
"Well, gaining access to the Tenko empire is enough for me."
"That was indeed the first time I saw you, never did I imagine I would have my heart stolen by the very treasure of the queen I was pursuing." Kurama stroked her lips with his thumb as her face coloured.
He gently kissed her as he then laid her down on the bed and pulled her sheets to her her chest. He was about to turn when she grabbed him by his sleeve.
"Akina?"
"Can you stay with me for a little longer?" Akina asked softly when she turned to face the wall as her ears turned red.
Kurama chuckled as he sat next to her and kissed the side of her forehead.
"I am not going anywhere Akina."
Akina smiled as she closed her eyes to sleep. Kurama watched her with a soft smile as he caressed her cheek.
Kurama had just gotten up to get some water when he turned alert and rushed into Akina's room. Akina was standing in the balcony.
"You again." Kurama sighed as he picked up the blanket.
"Don't you seem happy to see me." Akina scoffed as she trained her silver eyes on him.
"Don't catch a cold." He placed the blanket around her.
"No exchange of barbs?" She tilted her head in mockery.
"You are a part of her. I need to accept you as well since... Since Akina means the world to me." Kurama said simply.
"Fufufufu.... This is interesting." She suddenly grabbed him and kissed him.
Kurama's eyes went wide as she stepped back and smirked at him.
"This is sure going to be fun." She walked back inside.
"What do you want?"Kurama asked when she turned and smiled.
"I just want to make sure the sphere is not misused.... We will need to go back to Tenko. I need you to be her strength." Akina looked ahead.
"What do you mean?"
"You will understand eventually."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Akina's eyes fluttered opened as she saw the sunlight stream into her room.
"Good morning." Kurama placed a cup of coffee in front of her as Akina blushed.
"You stayed with me." Akina took the cup happily.
"I told you. I am always beside you." Kurama smiled at her and she smiled brightly and sipping her coffee.
"Is something bothering you?" Kurama asked when Akina nodded.
"Is.... Is there a way to find the Tenko empire?" Akina asked as she looked at him.
"Why?"
"Umm... I dont think there will be an end to this till I... I go there." Akina said softly.
Kurama sighed as he tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Only the ruins are left. It is a dark and desolate place now.... The murkiness of the demon realm has mixed in there, not even a single plant is able to grow there." Kurama said softly.
Akina looked down as he placed his hand on her cheek.
"It keeps calling me." Akina said as she placed her hand over his.
He raised his eyebrow.
"At first I had dreams of my mother... but I could not recognise her for so long... now... in my dreams... I hear voices.... Asking me to return. To set the wrong right." Akina muttered.
"Right now don't worry about it Akina but from what I can make out, we may eventually need go there. There are many things unanswered." Kurama said gravely.
"Eh?" Akina looked at him.
"I will explain at Yusuke's house. Why don't you get ready? We shall leave now." He smiled when Akina nodded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The sphere should not be misused." Kuwabara looked confused.
"That is what the Tennyo soul told me. It was not her usual coldness, something is just not fitting right." Kurama said worried.
"On the other hand...." Yusuke grinned looking at Kurama who looked confused.
"How was it staying over night at her house?" Yusuke had a sly look on her face.
"I am not sure what you mean." Kurama had a chilling smile on her face.
"Ah hahah... I mean nothing...." Yusuke sweat dropped.
"Hmph... it's not like he would do anything." Hiei said bluntly.
Kurama just sighed as Akina entered the room with Botan and Kazeha and placed the tea on the table.
"What happened?" Akina asked innocently when the others shook their head.
"Nothing. Even if you want to go to the Tenko Empire, I think there is still some seal on it. I think we should take help from Koenma to find the place." Hiei said shortly.
"Can I not be used to find the place? Since I have the blood of Tenko running in me?" Akina asked curiously.
"Well, it maybe helpful but it will not be easy. Someone placed that seal intentional...someone or something." Hiei looked at Akina.
"Someone....something... Could it be Mako or the sphere?" Akina asked.
"Hiei, can you use Akina's aura to find out?" Kazeha asked when Hiei just looked at her.
"Hmmm... It's worth a try." Hiei placed his hand out when Akina shrank a bit when Kurama nodded at her confidently.
Akina nodded and allowed Hiei to touch her forehead. Hiei pulled off his bandana, and his Jagan opened. Hiei searched through her memories when found what he was looking for.
"I see... It is a rather well hidden location. The seal....it has been placed by the sphere not by that half demon...huh..." Hiei suddenly turned serious as he jumped back.
Akina opened her eyes, the silver colour of her eyes shone as she glared at them.
"You should have just asked me how to get there." Akina crossed her hands.
"You are like to show up a lot." Yusuke commented when she glared at him.
"Either ways, you yourself don't know how to reach there, so why dont you stop your pretence." Hiei glared at Akina who just grinned.
"I still have an idea where to find... I need to find that sphere, at least before Mako does." Akina smirked.
"Why's re you so obsessed with getting the sphere?!?" Kazeha demanded.
"That is a secret.... I better go, the brat doesn't trust me even in the least bit even though I am originally a part of her." Akina smiled rather ruefully.
She blinked as her warm brown eyes reappeared.
"Eh? She took over me again didn't she?" Akina sighed.
"What I have understood is that the empire is somewhere at the border of human realm and demon realm but the barrier around it very strong." Hiei said simply.
"Akina, looks like you will have to inherit the sphere." Kazeha grimaced.
As night fell, Kurama accompanied Akina back to her apartment but Akina was quiet.
"What's wrong?" Kurama asked as Akina just sighed.
"Is it okay if we took a detour?" Akina asked softly.
Kurama raised a brow but said nothing as they stopped by a park. Akina remained quietly as she sat on the swing while Kurama leaned against the pole.
"Akina?"
"Can I really handle all this?" Akina asked feeling dejected.
"You don't have to handle it alone." Kurama said gently when she got up and walked towards a tree.
Her touched the trunk as she looked down.
"I remember.... The queen said the sphere does not really answer the wishes... we have to make the right choice but no one has made it yet. I dont know what it is." Akina spoke up.
"Why is that worrying you now?" Kurama asked as he approached her.
"Because... The right wish will allow me to prevent Mako from misusing the sphere. I think the Tennyo soul knows... but she is not telling me much." Akina replied.
Kurama gently turned her to face as he gently held her by her shoulders.
"Akina, we first need to find the Tenko empire before you even think about the sphere. There is no doubt, Mako will find a way to bring you there." Kurama reason when Akina just nodded.
"Ne... Are you okay being with me?" Akina asked softly.
"Akina?"
"My soul is split in two, we both have very different personalities... also... I cannot even control my powers... I... I am scared that I am putting you in danger." Akina mashed her lips together.
Kurama gently stepped back into the light as he smiled.
"I think you should know this about me." He whispered as he allowed Yoko Kurama to appear.
Akina's eyes widened, where Kurama stood, a silver haired fox demon was looking at her. Her heart skipped a beat, even in this form, she knew it was Kurama.
As Minamino Shuichi he was handsome but as Yoko Kurama.... She blushed as she faced him.
"So beautiful." Yoko Kurama touched her cheek with his finger as he traced down to her chin and then tilted it up to face him.
Akina could hear her blood pound in ears.
"To think that tiny helpless infant would turn out to be such a beautiful young woman. I was supposed to steal you but you managed to steal my heart." He pulled her into a kiss.
He then pulled away now back in Minomino Shuichi form.
"This who I really am. I am Minomino Shuichi and Yoko Kurama at the same time. Can you accept me as both?" Kurama asked as he caressed her cheeks.
"Of course! I love you!" Akina replied when he chuckled.
"So, then of course, I can accept you and your Tennyo soul. I just want you beside me, Akina." Kurama pulled her close to him.
Akina smiled.
"Which I why I don't ever want you to worry about my feelings and intentions towards you. If you allow me... I want to leave my imprint on you. I want anyone who meets you to know that you are mine." Kurama requested when Akina nodded.
"I want to be yours!" She exclaimed happily when Kurama smiled.
He gently pulled her sleeve down as he pulled back the tendrils of her hair as he kissed her neck. Akina suddenly felt her stomach do a backflip as he tightened his hold on her, while kissing her neck.
"Kurama...Ah..." Her body heat increased as she felt her knees go weak.
The way he nibbled at her skin while gently sucking, made her breathing go erratic while her heart sped so fast that she felt her breath shorten.
He held her tighter, pulling her to be close as possible.
Her body shuddered as he kissed just above her collar bone, she shut her eyes feeling pleasure, heat and desire fill her up. He then pulled back.
Her flushed face, glazed eyes and shortened breath was tempting him, as he kissed her deeply which she returned with equal passion.
When they finally broke apart of air, she realized her neck was still warm as she touched it.
"You have my mark now." Kurama whispered as she embraced him.
"I love you, Kurama."
