Chapter 14: Sacrifice

"Ha!!! You are staying over at Minamino-san's place?!??!" Mikiko and Sumiko rounded at her as she blushed.
"Um....Yeah... I... have a stalker... So he felt it would be safer there." Akina blushed.
That morning, it was quite funny when his younger brother found them both on the same bed. Shiori-san had a strict word with Kurama but she was extremely kind to Akina.
She made me feel like mom was right next to me when I had that night mare Akina smiled to herself.
"So? Did something happened between you two?" Mikiko asked curiously.
"Eh? Nothing happened?" Akina replied confused.
"I don't see any hickey or anything. Nothing happened I think." Sumiko giggled when Akina blushed.
"He won't do anything like that! Beside his family is also there." Akina felt steam blow out of her ears as Mikiko and Sumiko laughed.
"You father would kill him if he tried something now." Mikiko giggled.
Akina giggled as she remembered her family's reaction when she told them about Kurama
EHHH? YOU GOT A BOYFRIEND??? Her parents yelled over the phone.
"Sorry... It's a bit sudden but he also confessed so...." Akina giggled nervously.
"My daughter... my daughter who still cannot keep her hands of books, is a bit dark and quiet.... Got a boyfriend?" Her mother muttered in shock.
"Who is he? I am not ready for this... My little girl...." Her father on the other hand sobbed.
"He is a good person! He is a bit older than me but he understands me... also he makes sure that I am safe! When you guys come to visit, I want you to meet him!" Akina pleaded when her mother chuckled.
"I see, he does sound like a good person. Have you met his family?" Her mother asked.
"Not yet but... his family also seem to be very warm people....I really like him." Akina said happily.
"Does he wear glasses?" Her older brother asked.
"Eh? No he does not. Why?" Akina asked confused.
"Just wondering what made him like you in the first place! A tomboy and a bookworm... He must really have some weird tastes!" Her brother laughed
"Ha! That so mean!" Akina whined when her mother laughed.
"He seems to care for you a lot. Introduce him to when we are here." Her mother had a kind smile.
"Yup." Akina grinned.
"I won't hand my little girl that easily! I will fight this guy if I need to!" Her father was sobbing on the side as her mother chuckled.
"I look forward to meeting your boyfriend." Her mother had a kind smile
"Even if Papa was crying, they seem to like him." Akina spoke happily.
"It's cute to see Akina like this nah..." Sumiko giggled as Mikiko also agreed.
"After everything she went through, its nice to see her happy." Mikiko smiled.
"Yosh! Let us go and celebrate Akina's relationship at karaoke!" Sumiko cheered as Akina giggled.
"I shall treat!"

"So, you guys are at karaoke?" Kurama voice made her feel giddy.
"Un... I haven't been hanging out with them lately and they are also cheering us on." Akina replied as she stood outside the karaoke room.
"Do you want me to pick you up soon?" He chuckled.
"It's okay... I shall call you. Most likely we will end up at Yusuke-san's ramen stand... So...." Akina replied shyly.
"I shall see you there."
Akina smiled as she went to join Mikiko and Sumiko.
Unbeknownst to her, she was being followed. The red haired man smiled as he watched Akina join her friends.
"You will come with me princess. You will have to." He smiled evilly.

"Ha!!! I had so much fun!" Mikiko exclaimed as Sumiko laughed.
"Me too! I don't know why but today I had fun!" Akina agreed as she looked at her shopping bags.
"Ahh! The power of love.... Akina being interested on shopping." Sumiko chuckled.
"I wanted to get him something nice." Akina pouted as she held the bag close to her.
A smile graced her face.
"EH... That does sound nice."
Akina shivered as she turned in fear as Mikiko and Sumiko looked at her.
"Akina?" Mikiko called out.
"You guys go ahead. I need to check something out." Akina's voice trembled.
"Smart choice. You would not want your friends to get involved after all."
"Akina? Are you okay?" Sumiko reached over as Akina nodded.
Akina's eyes widened, there were white ball like structures around their necks. There were strands of static in the balls as they kept nearing towards them
" That fox's mother is human isn't she? She is rather pretty for her age, how about I do her instead of you?"
"Akina?" Mikiko approached her
"Yeah.... You guys reach Yusuke-san's stand...Please." Akina felt her hair stand.
She could feel him near by. His aura was threatening, she need to get them to safety. She need to protect Shiori-san. Kurama loved his mother dearly, she had protect her.
"Akina..." Mikiko and Sumiko started when she suddenly sprinted away.
"Heh, So you made your choice. You know where to find me. It will be nice to see you after a long time, princess."
Akina rushed as she went into the abandoned building. She had to protect Shiori-san from that man.
She saw the portal which swallowed in. Mikiko and Sumiko had been chasing after but she had suddenly vanished from the area.

"What?!?" Yusuke exclaimed as he looked as Sumiko and Mikiko repeated what had happened.
"She was acting very weird and she suddenly ran off." Sumiko stuttered.
"I know Yusuke-san is busy but please help us find her!" Mikiko pleaded.
"Understood. You guys get home, we shall find her." Yusuke smiled at them.
"Yo! What's with the long face Urameshi?" Kuwabara turned up.
"Ah! You turned up at the right time Kuwabara! Akina-chan suddenly vanished from them." Yusuke turned to Kuwabara when he paled
Kurama was standing with Kuwabara. His eyes widened, he stood in shock.
"What do you mean Akina vanished." He asked quietly
But Yusuke knew he was angry and upset.
"I dont know Minamino-san... She suddenly just sprinted away... and she just.... Vanished from the spot." Sumiko looked up when Kurama gave a soft smile.
"It's okay. Like Yusuke said, you girls get home. We will look for her." Kurama nodded at them as she bowed and left, concern still etched on  their faces.
"Yusuke... there is something I need to let you both know." Kurama said silently as he told them about the man from the previous night.
"You think he enticed Akina-chan?" Yusuke exclaimed as he closed his store.
"I am sure he must have threatened to harm Mikiko-san and Sumiko-san, that's why she must have reacted like that. Remember how she went to confront Mako on her own." Kurama sighed.
"We better find her quickly! From what I understand, this guy is bad news." Kuwabara exclaimed.
"Only if Hiei was here." Yusuke sighed.
"I am here, unfortunately thanks to that brat, a lot of demons are entering the human world in search of her. We need to find that brat quickly." Hiei appeared from the shadow.

Akina felt the hair on her arms stand as she entered the broken room in the building.
"You did well, coming here all alone." The red haired man walked up to her and smiled.
Her teeth were sharp while his skin glowed a pale yellow as he stood in the moonlight. Akina could feel her heart beat rather wildly as she stepped back.
"What do you want with me? Leave all my friends alone!" Akina said feebly when he laughed.
"I showed you what I want didn't I? It was not possible with your mother, especially since as an infant also, you were powerful, but it is possible with you." He sneered as he walked towards her.
Akina tensed when he suddenly raised his hand and she was blown against the wall. Something invisible, pulled her hand above her head as he saw balls of light bind her wrists to the wall.
She tried to get away when jolts of electricity ran though her body making her scream in pain.
"Ah... These screams... so melodious. I always wondered what your screams would sound like." He grinned evilly as he approached her.
Akina immediately froze as she tried to create a barrier when the electric shock ran through her body making her spit out blood.
"It's no use. Those balls will restrict you from using you power. Don't try to resist me." He smirked as he touched her cheek when she swung her leg and kicked him in his chest.
"Really you know how to stay put!" He growled as he grabbed her by his hair and smashed her head against the wall.
Akina could see stars form in her eyes when he grabbed her by her cheeks made her looked at him.
"It's a good thing you are beautiful and so innocent. There is a certain reward when you push to ruin something so beautiful, like red staining the white sheets or as black ink on a white sheet of paper." He whispered in her ear when she kicked him off.
"You b*****." He slapped her when she spat on him.
"You can never have me. I have already given myself to Kurama-san." Akina spoke out when he laughed.
"So you think it would dissuade me just because he imprinted on you? I know for a fact you still haven't slept with him. Ahh... This more fun, taking you away from him. Will he want you after all this?" He smirked as when he suddenly tore her school shirt down to her navel.
He placed his hand on her bare chest when she girthed her teeth as she kicked him off again.
"I won't... I won't let you..." Akina pulled her hands off even though the pain made her want to throw up.
She fell to the ground as she stood as she wobbled. There were numerous cuts on her body as she glared at him.
"Heh... you are so brave that you could defy the Tennyo bindings? Interesting." He laughed when he suddenly vanished.
Akina looked alert when she screamed in pain as she fell on the floor. He had slashed her left arm from her shoulder, there was blood dripping down her fingers.
She still stood up as she grabbed her shoulder when he kicked her stomach and then grabbed his hair and banged her head on the ground.
Suddenly he was pushed off her as the air was filled with ozone.
Akina stood up, her eyes had turned silver as she suddenly threw a ball of blue fire at him which he dodged.
"So, you finally surface." He smirked.
"Torano... You never learn do you." She growled as she clapped her hands making blue fires rope wraps around him.
"How are you able to use this!" Torano screamed at her when she smirked.
"I have always wanted to fry you but this stupid softhearted idiot would let me harm anyone but now that she also wants to teach you lesson, its easier." She smirked when she tightened the ropes.
"I see, your wavelengths have started to match but, you should pay attention to your physical body before you use any powers." He smirked when suddenly the rope wrapped around his neck.
"When she is in use, there are physical limitation but because our souls split, I am not bound by them. I want nothing more than to burn you to a crisp." She pointed at him as lightening tornados struck him.
He was on the ground, withering in pain. Akina approached him as the Tennyo slipped back in her. She limped when he suddenly rushed at her, grabbing her throat and pushed her to the ground.
"Did you really think that would kill me? You really need to learn your place." He kept punching her as when she used her barrier to push him off her.
She knew she was losing consciousness when she materialised her bow and arrow. The blood loss from her head wound, her shoulder and arm was staring to make everything hazy.
The arrow shook violently when he let go of it as she fell to the ground as it struck him on his thigh making him scream in pain. She could not move, her body ached horribly and she knew she was losing blood.
"So you are at you limit. I shall enjoy this as you lose your consciousness." He growled as he grabbed her by her hair and pulled her exhausted and injured body to face him.
Kurama... I am sorry... I... I love you. Akina felt tears fill her eyes, as he further tore her school uniform.
"Don't you worry, I will leave your body for the fox as well." His smirked when suddenly a blue light filled the area as he was blown off away from her.
Someone pulled her in their arms. She blinked as she smelt the familiar scent of roses, Kurama's concerned face came in focus as he cupped her cheek.
"Ku...Kurama...So..." She started as her hand touched his hand on her cheek,  when he embraced her.
"Don't say anything now. I Know." He whispered as Akina felt her consciousness slip, her hand fell as her body went limp.
When he had seen the red haired demon when had just tore her uniform, his blood ran cold. Even Hiei had frozen in disgust at the demon. Yusuke immediately shot his spirit gun blowing him off her.
She was in a terrible form, her left cheek was swollen while there were slashes on her forehead, Her clothes were tattered, a deep gash ran from her left shoulder to her fore arm. Dark red and blue bruises covered her entire body. Her entire body was also covered in numerous cute, most of which had clotted.
"So you found her. You could have just waited a minutes, I would have been done with her." He grinned sickly.
"You bastard..." Yusuke growled when Kurama touched his shoulder.
"Yusuke, look after her." Kurama said silently as Yusuke nodded and took Akina, who was now wearing Kurama's jacket, in his arms.
"I have never seen Kurama this angry, he is even more angry than the time with Amanuma." Yusuke commented as he checked Akina's wounds.
"That other fool has really lucked out. Kurama will never easily forgive him for what he has done, in fact I am itching to slice him into pieces." Hiei growled.
"Take him out Kurama! MAKE HIM REGRET EVER TOUCHING AKINA-CHAN!" Kuwabara shouted
"Oh, the fox wants to take revenge on me? Oh, you imprinted on her, jealous I nearly had her before you?" He sneered.
Kurama just rushed at him, slashed his whip at the demon's torso and then jumped back.
The demon stumbled and then quickly pulled the seed from his chest and glared at Kurama who silently walked towards Yusuke and took Akina back in his arms.
"Ha! Have you given up so easily! You think your seed was planted successfully?!?" He sneered when Kurama just looked at from his peripheral view.
"Yes, it should be done by now." He said softly.
"What are you...ARGH! WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!?!"He gasped as his skin began to turn into wines as small leaves sprouted from his skin as he grew rigid and paralysed.
"You recognise the plant, don't you Hiei." Kurama said softly as he cradled Akina.
"It is a type of Pseudo creature plant isn't it. Heh. Perfect punishment." Hiei grinned.
"He will eventually be devoured by the plant once the roots reach his brain. The more he gets injured, the more the plant will take over his body." Kurama said as Yusuke sighed and the grinned.
"Well, I agree with Hiei, what he deserved." He also turned to leave as Kuwabara kept asking what they were talking about.
"Shit! You bastards! How dare you?!??! I will have that girl! I will!" He screamed when suddenly mouthing slashed his back.
He turned to see a white haired man who was followed by Mako.
"You failed. The least I can do is decrease your suffering." He said simple.
"No..No... Senyu-san... I can still...No!" He gasped when he was stabbed and slashed as the plant took over him entirely.
"Well, you are useless now." He said simply as Mako smiled and they vanished.

"Akina-san! She looks terribly injured! Did the stalker get to her?" Shiori-san asked worried as she saw the injured Akina in Kurama's arms.
Kurama had taken her to Botan who managed to heal most of her injured but they still had to bandage a majority of them. She was still unconsciousness, her breathing was a little irregular but she was alive, for that he was grateful.
"It's okay mom, Yusuke and the others were informed in time, and we got to save her, as for the stalker, he has been disposed." Kurama said simply.
"Poor child, take her to you room, I shall bring her something to eat. Is it okay not to take her to a hospital?" Shiori asked as Kurama climbed the stairs.
"It's better she stays with us for now." Kurama said silently as he went into his room and laid her on his bed.
"Shuichi, why don't you step out for sometime, her clothes are in tatters, let me at least change her clothes." Shiori said softly as Kurama nodded and walked out.
He waited outside as anger coursed through him. The way she had been treated, his gnashed his teeth together as he saw the fear and regret in her eyes. She had been trying to apologise to him, he hated that demon.
He hoped he suffered to the maximum, even that would not calm him down. The door opened as his mother stepped out.
"Shuichi, she is awake, she needs you." She said silently when he nodded and he entered the room.
Akina was sitting on the bed, wearing one of his shirts as the bed sheet had been pulled up to her hips as she crouched, her hands in her face.
"Akina?" He sat in front of her and gently touched her shoulder.
"I am sorry... I am sorry.... I... I have put Shiori-san in danger." Akina blurted as she looked at him.
"Akina..." He tried to stop her when she shook her head.
"He... He threatened to... harm Shiori-san if I...I didn't... If I didn't go there...I...am sorry... I..." Akina blubbered when Kurama pulled her in his arms.
"You need to calm down. He is never coming back, besides, he would never be able to touch mother. He used your kindness Akina but..." He pulled back as he cupped her cheek.
"You need to discuss with me all this. I understand you want to protect everyone, but you cannot do this alone." He gently wiped her tears with his thumb.
"Sorry...  Sorry." Akina sobbed as Kurama hugged her.
She remained in his arms even as her sobs decreased. Kurama just stroked her hair as she calmed down.
"Are you feeling better?" Kurama asked softly as Akina pulled away and nodded.
"My arms hurts a bit but otherwise I am okay." She looked at him when she blushed.
Kurama smiled as he leaned forward and kissed her. Akina returned his kiss as she wrapped her arms around his neck as he pulled her closer to him.
"I love you Akina. I am always here for you." He whispered against her lips.
Akina nodded as she smiled happily as he pulled her for another kiss.

"You had us worried you idiot!" Mikiko shouted as Akina laughed awkwardly.
"Why did you not tell us about the stalker?!? Look at how he injured you?!?" Sumiko scolded as Akina grimaced.
"He was really dangerous... It's better that he is not here anymore." Akina replied slowly.
"I am glad you are not harmed but never do this again!" Mikiko sighed as Akina giggled nervously.
"I understand." Akina replied as she sighed.
It was not like she was looking for trouble.  Had it not been for Shiori-san and Kurama, she would have lost it. The demon had beaten her terribly and if Mikiko and Sumiko had not warned Kurama, she did not want to think what would have happened.
"He he... Looks like Minamino-san is very serious about you." Mikiko chuckled as they walked towards the gate as school ended.
Akina blushed as she smiled nervously.
"He has been a huge help, even always coming to rescue me when all I do is trouble him." Akina replied.
"Akina, ready to go?" Kurama approached her.
"It's Akina huh...." Mikiko elbowed her and Sumiko laughed.
"We will see you soon!" Sumiko waved as she left.
They walked in silence, as Akina kept sneaking a look at him. She pursed her lips as she tried to extend her hand to hold his but kept pulling back feeling shy. Kurama noticed as he softly chuckled and took her hand in his.
She smiled happily as she grabbed his arm and leaned on to him as they walked down the street. A gentle wind blew as the scent of rain started to fill the area.
"Looks like it will rain soon." Kurama commented as the clouds broke and it started to rain.
They rushed to his home as the rain got heavier.
"Looks like everyone is out. You should get dry..." Kurama stopped as he swollen hard.
Her uniform had gotten wet and somehow see through. He cleared his throat as he ushered her into the bathroom with a fresh change of clothes.
He sighed as he took the other bath, and then chuckled. He had gotten so attracted to her, he just had the fleeting thought of grabbing her, kissing her, gently laying her down and...
"Don't go that way." He whispered to himself.
Akina on the other hand felt her heart  beat extremely fast as she sat in the bad. She had seen the way he had looked at her, she felt her stomach flip.
All she wanted at that time was for him to approach her... and...
She yelped as she dunked her head in the water.
She had just gotten out of the bathroom and into his room when she blushed. Kurama stood in room, with no shirt on. Akina felt heat steep into her face.
"So...Sorry!" Akina shut the door as she sat on the floor,blushing furiously.
Kurama came out wearing a long sleeved t-shirt when Akina blushed on seeing him. He just smiled, tilted her chin and gave her a gently kiss which she returned. He deepened the kiss as Akina felt herself melt into his arms
"We are home!" His mother's voice broke them.
Akina giggled as Kurama stepped back while scratching his head and chuckling.

"She is growing lovely everyday." The white haired man commented.
"You seem to be attracted to her?" Mako asked rudely.
"Not really, I wonder.... If the fox was originally in his demon form, would he still love her?" He grinned.
"What are you planning?"
"Nothing much, just want to see how strong their love for each other is."
