Chapter 18: A new threat

Akina grabbed the sphere as she held it to her. Her chest hurts as she felt the blood spurt out of the wound.
So.... What have you decided?
She looked up to see many bluish white spirits surround her.
"I don't have much time but... can I wish?"
We wait for your wish
"I... Wish for you all to be free... I wish the sphere to stop existing so you are all free." Akina whispered.
The spirits seemed surprised as Akina panted out.
Looks like she knew what she wants. Then Tennyo soul smiled as she bent next to Akina.
Akina raised her tired eyes to the tennyo who smiled gently as touched her wound. A warm light spread around her as she felt her body grow light.
We hear your wish and hand over your true inheritance.

"There is no way you bonded with the tennyo soul! I had made sure to destroy your spirit to do so!" Mako screamed when Akina sighed.
"You may have succeeded had I not had so many people to support me. Besides, the Tennyo should had already told me what it wanted so now that it has gotten that, we have bonded back." Akina replied softly.
"Shut up! Shut up!" Mako threw a fireball at them which was deflected by Akina's barrier.
"Mako-san! Give up! The sphere will give you no power, in fact! I have wished it out of existence! Akina raised her hand as ozone filled the air.
Mako's face gripped in fear as she stepped back.
"Heaven's order!" Akina yelled as lightening struck Mako who screamed in pain.
Akina put her hand down as she fell to her knees. Kurama immediately pulled her into his arm as she watched Mako being struck by lightening.
The lightening stopped as Mako fell to the ground in pain and injury. She stood up and rushed at Akina when Yusuke blocked her and blasted her out of the way. Mako still stood on when Hiei sliced at her abdomen making her fall.
"No... I will not be defeated! I.,.." Mako growled but she was unable to stand up.
"You shall come with me. Your reign of terror is over." Koenma said strictly as Mako growled in anger.
"Wait!"
They turned to see Akina now support by Kurama who had turned back into Minamino Shuichi.
"Akina-chan?" Koenma looked confused when Akina stood in front of Mako.
"Mako-san, why?"
Mako tried to lounge at her but her wounds held her back. Kurama held Akina protectively against him but Akina still looked at him.
"Mako-san?"
"The love the queen had would go all to you! I would have nothing! I was the queen's child! Why should I have to give that up for you?" Mako yelled.
Akina's eyes softened. She knelt in front of Mako as Kurama placed a protective hand on Akina.
"The queen would never do that. You would have still been her child, you would have been my big sister." Akina said softly when Mako's eyes widened.
"Eh?"
"Do you think the queen would have abandoned you just because I was born?" Akina asked softly.
"NO! NO! THE QUEEN...SHE!"
"Queen would have never abandoned you Mako! She was clear about that. She wanted us as Akina's sisters!" Kazeha spoke up.
"But... But he... He...." Mako's eyes widened as she began to scratch her face.
"Mako-san!" Akina reached to grab her when Mako jumped back while screaming.
"He said the queen would change! He said that the queen would turn like everyone else! He,...." Mako panted in anger.
Akina looked on frightened when Mako fell to her knees. They were shocked to see tears in her eyes.
"What... what have I done?" Mako bawled as Akina leaned onto Kurama.
The sky lightened as light began to stream in. Akina looked around as multiple white forms appeared around them. Hiei reached for his sword when Senyu stopped them.
"They... They are the Tenko ancestors."
"You made the right choice little heir." One of the voices spoke.
Akina looked on as light burst. The blinked when they saw grass grow on the ground and vines surrounded the ruins.
"We shall remove our curse. Our blessings are with you child."
Akina smiled when one of the white form appeared in front of her. Kazeha's eyes widened as Senyu tried to stand up in shock. The white form turned into a beautiful woman who resembled Akina.
"My dear treasure, My child."
"Mo...Mother?" Akina muttered as the form tried to touch her.
Akina cried in joy as she sniffed.
"I leave my precious treasure to you, Yoko Kurama." Her mother smiled beautifully as Kurama held her close.
"She is my precious treasure as well." Kurama promised.
"Kazeha, Senyu, thank you for always being there for Akina." She smiled as Kazeha bowed as Senyu smiled.
"Mako..." The queen turned to Mako who howled as tried to crawl away.
"No! NO.... I BETRAYED YOU! I AIDED!...I...." Mako screamed when the queen kneeled next to her.
"You did wrong but you can still make it up. I forgive you." The queen whispered as her form disappeared.
Mako bent on to the ground and burst into tears as light poured on to the ruins. Koenma wiped his eyes as he approached Mako when a huge wind pushed Mako into the air.
Akina stiffened as Kurama and Yusuke stood in front of her. The wind took form of a black haired man who smirked at them.
"Oi? WHO ARE YOU??" Kuwabara yelled when the man smirked.
"We will meet soon. The sphere may have gone but as long as the heir is here, its not over." He vanished with Mako.

"My body feels like lead." Akina complained as she tipped onto the grass of the dojo.
"A good bath and sleep will help us all." Yusuke commented as Kurama helped Akina up.
"A meal will also do good. Senyu-san, you look like you will crumple soon." Kazeha commented as Kuwabara set Senyu on the veranda.
"Akina is fine, so everything else will be okay. And you are here Kazeha." He grinned which made Kazeha blush.
"Akina-chan?"
Akina turned to see Keiko, Botan and Yukina. Akina smiled and rushed to them as Keiko embraced her tightly.
"Keiko-san, you are okay!" Akina cried as Botan and Yukina joined in the hug.
"They have been really worried. Akina means a lot to us all." Yusuke muttered.
"Kurama, you nearly lost yourself." Hiei commented as Kurama chuckled.
"When I released that I would be in a world without Akina, everything stopped making sense. I knew i loved her but never imagined that without her, I would lose reason." Kurama said softly as he watched Botan poke Akina's cheeks as she laughed.
"But who was that man?" Yusuke questioned as Kuwabara sank to the floor.
"I don't know what he is but he is not Tenko, however his blood has a similar scent to her." Hiei muttered.
"What does that mean?"
"If I am not wrong, Akina's father is a human spiritualist." Kurama spoke up.
"So could it be someone related to her father?" Yusuke sat up and Hiei shrugged.
"Either that or someone similar. The fact he is working with demons is worrying. I have a feeling he is the one who spread rumours about her." Hiei muttered.
"What about Akina's father?" Kuwabara asked.
"You heard Mako before. He had been killed in an ambush but he created a barrier to protect the queen and his then unborn child. Of course shortly, Akina had been born in front of me." Kurama replied.
"We have another troublesome foe to face. Akina-chan will be in constant danger. Won't she?" Yusuke sighed.
"I will be there with her. No matter how much time passes." Kurama muttered.
Akina turned to them and smiled happily.
He would do anything to protect that smile.

Akina stood near the stream as she enjoyed the feel of the water rush against her feet.
"I knew i would find you here." Kurama joined her and held her close to him.
"This is where I realised I am in love with you... so..." Akina leaned on to him when she noticed his hands was trembling.
"I was scared I would lose you."
"I was scared of the same... When I was brought back.... My first thought was that I wanted to see you." Akina blushed as Kurama chuckled and lifted her chin.
"I love you Akina." He grinned as he kissed her.

"Mako is still in shock."
"I would expect no less. The queen said words that I myself did not expect.
"What is your next move?"
"I will make Akina mine."
