XVIII: Merry Christmas

Third POV

The minute first light had shone above the horizon, a warm and welcoming feeling filled everyone's hearts and spirits.

All coming together after a very rough and rather hectic week to do nothing but enjoy themselves. Making their way to the lounge room that was pinpointed for Christmas cheer.

"All together now," Mina announced, her tone being light-hearted and giggly while her signature Santa hat bounced with every step she took, "ONE, TWO, THREE-!"

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" They all jeered excitedly, preparing to crack out all day & all night activities.

While some breakfast foods were being prepared for the meantime, while others took on the duty of preparing food for the large A unit feast.

Aside from that, festivities included snowball fights, the best snowman contest, seeing who could drink eggnog the fast without wanting to projectile vomit afterward.

In total, it was like a Christmas extravaganza.

. . .

"Alright, now that everything is being placed in order let's discuss our next course of action," Iida started, looking at those at the small round table.

From the far left to the right was Iida, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki.

They sat in a corner, looking to the outside to see everyone else enjoying themselves during this winter season.

"Hagakure and Ojiro plan on having the makeup wedding tomorrow and after that, they'll jet off to their honeymoon for a week before returning." Yaoyorozu started, "I think it's safe to say we should allow two people for backup just for the worst-case scenario."

Katsuki nodded, "Options are Koda, Mina, or Tokoyami. We can let the couple decide which one if we want to keep this place still secure."

This is when Todoroki spoke up, "Mhm, and speaking of security what about the renovations we've had in progress?"

Placing a laptop down for everyone to see, Iida began to explain the current process, "Right now there's a pause but it'll continue shortly, but the main goal is to create an even larger titanium gate surrounding the building, update the alarm system and to make sure everything else is up and running."

"A lot of money to ensure the safety of everyone but it's worth I suppose; this entire time has been nothing but a series of ups and downs," Katsuki grunted, taking a swig of the alcoholic eggnog Mina made before his face was upturned into a snarl.

His head whipped over to those down below, specifically at Izuku who was currently participating in the snowman competition, all bright-eyed and excited.

"You all are dismissed." He stated, "Go and enjoy the rest of the festivities with everyone else."

They gave one another looks before politely bowing to their head commander, and walking off to head outside.

Downing the rest of his drink, he let out a deep sigh, watching those that were just in the room outside with the others, pleased with this sudden break.

He might've been harsh once and awhile, but it was nice to see them all with brilliant smiles with everything that's happened in recent months.

He stuffed his hands into his pocket, pulling out a slip of paper that had written information about a wedding planner.

His mother had emailed him this input after he'd finally called back to update them about the family threat, including who was behind it.

Of course, Mitsuki wouldn't admit to her being wrong to force him into a marriage he had no pleasure for, but she did have some humility left to wish him and his latest fiancé a successful relationship.

They both supposed with time they could understand one another better with communication but for now, they'd start slow.

He'd probably call the day after tomorrow.

At that moment his phone buzzed, looking over to see a text notification from Izuku who told him to look outside.

This time when he looked outside, I snowman was officially complete, and it looked oddly familiar the more and more Katsuki stared at it.

Izuku looked at him, pointing at the rock-made a cynical face, earning himself a surprise smile from the blond who stood high above.

'Is that supposed to be me?' Katsuki hand gestured, pointing at the snowman and himself, earning an excited look from Izuku.

The snowman had an angry look to itself, multiple sticks being poked on top to resemble spiky hair, and to finish the winter piece was a red tie and a gun handle shoved into the snowman's side, acting as a holster.

'It's spot on' Katsuki complimented, watching Izuku bounce in each step he took, making some sort of shape.

It was a snow heart. Once he made the final top bump before landing in the center and beginning to make a plus sign, he moved rather quickly before forming the letters K and I respectively.

He made a heart sign with his hands, an ecstatic smile.

"How nice," Katsuki thought, grabbing his black overcoat, and making his way towards the elevator to the courtyard entrance.

A snowy breeze left small snowflakes entwined in his blond locks, walking over to Izuku who was now on the ground, gathering the sleet on the ground.

Izuku got up from the ground once Katsuki was in launching distance, he smiled, "Snowball fight." Watching Katsuki arch his brow in confusion, letting a low grumble in his throat.

He nodded off behind Katsuki, making the blond look behind him to see the rest of the A unit, all prepared with snowballs.

The next thing he knew? He was being pelted with snowballs. Laughter filled the air, knowing they'd never been able to catch their boss so off guard during a winter fight.

Izuku enjoyed himself watching his fiancé get attacked by his trusted A unit before he himself started getting pummeled as well.

"NEW RULES, WHOEVER PELTS THE BOSSES IN THE MOST AMOUNT OF SNOW GETS THE BEST SECRET SANTA GIFT OF THEIR CHOOSING!" Mina announced, pumping everyone up.

Izuku and Katsuki looked at one another, reluctant smiles before gradually getting off the ground.

Twas' a wonderful Christmas indeed.
