I was dressed in black skinny jeans, black boots, and a random T-shirt. I stood in the kitchen eating a light snack.
A light knock came from the front door and I opened it. "Ready?" He asked, his hands shoved into his pockets.
"Sure am, thank you for taking me by the way. You didn't have to" I smiled as we made our way to his car. "I wanted to" he said giving me a reassuring smile before following me to the passenger side and he opened the door for me.
I smiled light while Oscar jogged to his side and he started his way towards the nearest planned parenthood.
Parking I got out of the car, "I won't be long" I smiled.
After checking in I took a seat, glancing at the people around me. I placed a soft hand on my stomach as I waited.
"Madison Finnie" one of the doctors called and I followed her to a room. "It looks like you're 18 weeks today" the tech said as I took a seat on the table and leaned back.
I nodded my head and watched as she grabbed the gel and squeezed it onto my stomach. "Are you wanting to find out the gender?" She asked placing the little probe thing onto my stomach and moving it around.
"Could you write it in an envelope?" I asked and she smiled and nodded.
"Alright, everything looks good. Here is a printout of the plain copy and here is the copy with the gender" she smiled handing me a picture and an envelope. "Thank you" I smiled.

"How did it go?" Oscar asked as I got back into the car and he started driving. "Good, where are we going?" I asked watching at Oscar drove. He had one hand sticking out the window and the other was on the steering wheel.
"You'll see" he said glancing over at me then back to the road.
I allowed myself to admire Oscar, something I caught myself doing a lot lately. He's been so sweet, caring. Going out of his way to make sure I'm okay. That's something Oscar never does, for anyone but his brother.
Pulling into a parking lot I smiled up over at Oscar. "That beach?" I asked and he nodded stepping out of the car.
Oscar and I walked in silence through the water, one had was placed over my belly as the other held the backs of my shoes.
"This is the first place I went when I got out of prison, I needed to see something big after being trapped in something so small" he explained stepping and turning towards the water.
Oscar took a seat and the sand and I did the same.
"You know, I left because you got locked away." I said admitting to Oscar the real reason I had left. "Why?" He asked looking over at me.
I continued to look towards the water, I could feel Oscar's eyes still on me. "I was upset that you got caught, I was upset that Sad Eyes was liking his best friend. Sad that you wouldn't be around to bug me, make fun of me, most of all, protect me" I whispered, looking over at Oscar who was still looking at me, he had a small smile on my face.
Oscar didn't say anything but continued to look at me. I turned around pulling the small envelope out of my pocket.
"What's that?" He asked, nodding his head towards the paper in my hand. "The gender of my baby" I whispered, looking up at Oscar.
"I can't do it" I said nervously, handing the paper to Oscar and he shook his head. "I can't be the one to do it" Oscar whispered holding the envelope between his fingers. "Please" I whispered locking eyes with Oscar, the first time we had really really looked at each other.
Oscar started to open the small envelope and pulled out the small ultrasound pictures. He searched them for a second before a small smile came across his face.
I watched Oscar carefully. "Congratulations Mads, it's a boy" he smiled. I couldn't help be tear up at the thought. I was getting my boy.
"Thank you" I smiled up at Oscar.
Oscar didn't reply but leaned closer to me. His lips attached to mine and my heart skipped a beat.
