"Everyone here is so friendly" ruby said smiling handing me a plate with some sort of food on it. I didn't care what it was, this baby was hungry. "I told someone I was from Freeridge and got major props. Hood must be trending"

Ruby handed Olivia something but I was too busy eating. "It's time for my adventure to find the bathroom" Olivia said standing up.

"Okay, thanks for propping me up, just a small note. The swimmer comment was a little much." Ruby whispered causing me to chuckle. "Great intent, but a bit of a stretch. Think grounded."

"Point taken, Mr. Gentleman" Cesar said poking ruby in the chest. "Looks like this gentleman is gonna get his throat tickled." This time I couldn't hold in my laugh.

"Wrong euphemism, dude." Cesar nodded making me chuckle again.

"Um... who amongst us aced gifted English?" Ruby challenged.

"It's among." Cesar added Making me laugh again and ruby glared at me.

"Among, amongst. Ones a variant of the other." Ruby shrugged. "Oh, no. I totally zoned out on Jamal and Monse. Send them out location." Ruby said.

"You sure? You know how Monse is. She'll state problems with her mouth." Cesar said causing me to smack him. "That's my sister" I warned.

-

Ruby had started pacing, I don't understand why but it was annoying. "What's taking Olivia so long?" Ruby asked looking between Cesar and I.

"She's dropping a deuce" Cesar said. Making ruby and I look at him funny. "Everybody poops." He shrugged.

Rolling my eyes I looking between the two. "Why did Monse make me come with you guys if this is what we're doing. My feet hurt" I complained, grabbing another candy bar out of my bag.

"What's up locos" a guy said, coming into view I held in my laugh. He was dressed like Oscar in a flannel and even the tattoo. "I heard you're from the 'ridge too." He said trying to give himself an accent. Little does he know he's talking to the real spooky brother.

"Yo, check it." He said turning his hat around that said freeridge. I rolled my eyes. "Ah' just clowning!" He laughed obnoxiously. "Yeah, I'm straight from B-wood. West side!" He said throwing up a 'W' with his hand.

"So, what do you think of my fits? And my tat" he smirked looking me up and down. "It's pretty dope, right?"

We looked back and forth between each other. It was taking everything out of me not to laugh. I couldn't even focus on him without wanting to laugh.

"Hey" he said eyeing Olivia up and down when she got back. "Where'd you get that?" He asked nodding towards the drink in her hand.

"From the fridge." She said, turning slightly.

"That's my moms pressed juice." He said seriously, "oh I'm sorry." Olivia apologized, looking from the bottle to the guy. "She's on a cleanse. She knows exactly how many bottles there are."

"I had no idea. I just wanted a drink and I just assumed—" Olivia started but he cut her off. "What? That you could just go in and take it?" He questioned. "There are drinks everywhere. There's a whole bin of soda right there." He said pointing out the different bins.

"Why were you in the fridge?" He said aggressively. "I was thirsty" Olivia started to say. "It's just juice. It's not a big deal."

"Don't tell me what's not a big deal, okay?" He ranted, "do people go in your house, take stuff out of your fridge?"

"Yeah" we all answered, making him stop for a second. "What the hell, is wrong with you people?" He asked.

"You people?" Olivia argued, "hey just let it go" Cesar said trying his best to cut in.

"Don't you have any respect?" The guy dressed as Oscar asked. "Respect?" Olivia questioned.

"Says the while boy dressed like a cholo" Olivia challenged, it took everything out of me not to laugh.

"Excuse me? Excuse me?"

"Hey, we don't want any problems." Cesar stated standing up. "Exactly. You know, I got her. Let me pay for the juice." Ruby said trying to reason with the guy.

"Okay. Okay, it's $52 a bottle. And then another 20 each for all the food and drinks you had." He started to list making me chuckle. $52 bottle of juice? My shoes ain't even worth that much.

"We don't have that kind of money on us." Olivia said, "of course you don't."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Olivia challenged. "I'm just staring the obvious." He shrugged. "Now you're just being a dick." Olivia said nonchalant.

The guy grabbed ahold of Ruby, "you better control your bitch" he snarled, making my jaw drop. "First of all, don't talk to her like that, second of all. At least we ain't some white boy trying to pretend to be a gangster." I said stepping in front of the kids.

"What are you gonna do about it, bitch" he said puffing his chest out and stepping closer to me. "oh tonto chico" I said chuckling and stepped back.

"How are we gonna settle up?" The fake cholo asked, looking from my to Olivia. "Like this" Olivia sneered, taking her bottled of juice and dumped it on the floor slowly.

Next this I new we were being chased down the street with eggs. Every couple steps I would get hit. Oh course they would drag me into some stupid shit like this.

-

"Guys, this is all my fault. I let that asshole get the best of me" Olivia sighed.

I continued to pick the eggshells off myself, "Jamal, get a Lyft" ruby said. "My dad said Lyft was only for emergencies"

"Seriously, what exactly constitutes an emergency?" Ruby said with a 'duh' tone. "Don't get a Lyft. It's handled. It's handled." Cesar smirked.

Walking back towards the guys house I stood close to Cesar, my arms crossed. "You want s'more?" The guy said opening his arms up. "Oh you think you're hard. Okay" he joked.

Cesar shook his head, "I'm not."

"But he is" he continued stepped out of the way as Oscar's red impala pulled up.

Oscar got out of the car, his eyes falling on me briefly before  walking up to the guy. Oscar smirked at the guy in front of him, standing a little taller than him.

Oscar licked his thumb and wiped the guys read drop tattoo off his face. He then did the same thing to his own, only Oscar's didn't come off. "This shits real"

"Please what do you want?" He plead, nearly crying in fear.

"All that candy, and I ever find out you've been messing with my girl, or my brother and his friends. I won't be nice next time" Oscar spat, grabbing bags of candy and placing his arm around my shoulder as we walked for the car.

-

After dropping Jamal, Cesar and Ruby off at Ruby's, Oscar drove us home. Monse was oddly quite the whole ride home. There's definitely something going on with her.

Oscar parked outside our house. He quickly got out to let Monse out and I got out as well. Monse hurried off inside and I stood next to the red impala.

"Thank you, for driving us home" I smile up at him, my heart was skipping. "How come we haven't talked?" I asked moving closer, now stood in front of him.

"Lo siento, hermosa" Oscar said wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me into him. "You called me your girl" I whispered, looking up at Oscar. "I Ah-" he said nervously and I just smiled. "It was cute, but I have a baby on the way" I said honestly, taking a step back.

"Mads, do you think I care about that?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows. He took a step forward, placing his hands on either side of my face, his thumb softly brushed my cheek. "Bebita, I'm not scared. I want to be with you"
