Chapter 8

"Come on" Monse complained, she was stood in my doorway as I laid in my bed. Fulling intending on going to bed at 3 o'clock.

"It's Halloween, you're going to at least come hang out with us during the shut in!" She yelled walking out of my room. I rolled my eyes before pulling on a pair go black skinny jeans that just barely fit because of my stomach. I pulled oh my red tank top and I put red devil ears on. This is the best it's gonna be.

"Come on we have to go to rubys" Monse yelled and I sighed following her out of the house.

"She danced on soul train. I hate what choo choo means." Jamal said looking at something on his phone.

I continued to scroll through mine as ruby was getting pissed, eyeing me for a second.

"Eighty-six the chitchat and focus" he complained. "This is gonna be the best shut-in ever. But we have to follow protocol" he said seriously.

"Dude, we know the drill." Monse said rolling her eyes.

"This years different, it's not about our survival" ruby said. "It's about Olivia. There was magic in out first dance" ruby explained, causing me to roll my eyes. I'm just here for the candy.

"You guys ever been to Brentwood?" Jamal asked, he was stood to my left still scrolling through his phone.

"My parents are out do I set up touch control LED lighting." Ruby continued, completely ignoring Jamal's question. "Bordello red." He smirked nodding and turning the lights on.

"And nightmare on elms street is gonna get Olivia a little scared and a litte lappy." He said dropping back to the couch behind him. I stifled a laugh making Ruby glare at me.

"You know that's creepy right?" I mentioned making ruby roll his eyes. "One step ahead of you. Little cover in case there is wood."

"Speaking of wood, Brentwood sounds kind of fun." Jamal added, still trying to get our attention about Brentwood.

"Where's Cesar sitting?" Monse asked glancing from me to ruby.

"In Oscar's impala" ruby said monotone.

Oscar and I haven't spoke since we went got the beach together. Since we kissed...

"He's not coming? Why? It's tradition" Monse said annoyed.

"Who cares! I have the perfect one to one P/V ratio" ruby yelled.

"P/V ratio?"

"Olivia and me. And Jamal and you."

"Never put my V with Jamal's P. Besides, Maddy is hanging out with us"

"Shut-in!" Cesar yelled walking through rubys front door.

"But I thought you were with Oscar?" Ruby whined.

"Good to see you too"

Cesar was dressed in a white sheet like a toga. I couldn't help but chuckle at his costume choice.

"No, it's fine. It's just.. take a seat. Any seat."

"What do you think?" Olivia asked coming out of her room and showing off her costume.

"That looks nice." Ruby laughed nervously.

"So, when are we going out?" Olivia asked. "Never! Trick-or-treating in Freeridge is a no-go." Ruby explained and we nodded.

"Why?" She asked shrugging.

"You might want to sit down" he said patting the seat next him. "I'll be brief." He said as she sat down.
