Beneath Believing

-chapter 8-

Hours passed since the 3 girls saw the shadow. Nothing important happened in this period of time. The girls were scared. They were hungry, they were thirsty but the feeling of someone watching them was too strong to ignore. They also needed sleep and a place that they knew they could call " safe ".
It was dark and quiet. Nobody dared to make a sound. Just the fear was killing them inside. They could die any second, any minute.... any hour. Wasting time to think was a bad decision for the girls. They had to do something. They had to keep going. Hours passed since the last time they talked. But then... Sid saw another shadow. But this time it was different. It looked different. It looked just like a 9 foot man with a deformed face. He was holding something sharp in his long hand but Sid couldn't see exactly what. It just vanished. Like the other shadow did.
Sid started screaming. What was it? This could NOT be just an imagination. Something was off. What was that creature?! Is it going to kill them? What is it going to do?!
"What?! WHAT?! SID?! ARE YOU OKAY?! WHAT'S WRONG?! DID SOMETHING HAPPEN?!" Mary shouted.
Sid just froze. She couldn't move or say anything. And then it all went black. Is she dead? What made her do this?

~1 hour later-

"SID! PLEASE! WAKE UP! STOP JOKING! IT'S NOT FUNNY!" Her friend said.
   But nothing. Absolutely nothing. This can't be true. She can't die! Is this a nightmare?! But then... she suddenly woke up by Mary aggressively shaking her.
"Wha- what happened...? Why am I on the ground?" She asked.
"OMG! SID! IT'S A MIRACLE!" Mary said.
"But what did I do?"
"I thought you were dead or something! You just started screaming then you passed out on the floor! Are you okay?!"
"Umm.... My head hurts..."
"Well! That's better than dying! But why did you scream?"
"I actually cannot remember. I just blacked out... But I guess I am okay now"
"Okay! *helps her get up* But we have to keep going otherwise we are actually going to die."
   So they kept going. Their feet started to hurt so bad that they had to take breaks every ten minutes to just sit down and gasp for some air. It had been over 24 hours since they entered this gate to hell. Nobody slept, nobody ate, nobody drank water. They needed to get out. Sid had a massive headache but other than that she was fine! So... the three girls kept going. Was this story going to have a good ending ...? Or was the ending that far away from this moment...?
