Later in the afternoon, Jungwoo made lasagna and lots of food. He even cooked Donghyuck seaweed soup although he knew Donghyuck hated it. Xiaojun and Kun (Donghyucks' friends) came too, and Jungwoo had two helpings.
Donghyuck said he didn't want a fancy birthday celebration, so Jungwoo took all the cooking role.
And Jungwoo decided to use this golden opportunity to show his cooking skills. He used every pot in the kitchen when he made lasagna. It was the worst clean-up, and maybe Donghyuck should consider hiring maids after this.
After all, Yoon Ahjumma was no longer to be seen there, she had been missing since the second day Donghyuck returned home. Nobody ever asked nor questioned. Not even Jungwoo.
Hendery and Mark mostly took the heavy job, they were helping with seating arrangement while Xiaojun and Kun were assigned to take care of the decorations. As for the celebrant, he went somewhere. According to Hendery, the tan Alpha went to buy snacks, but the question was, since when Donghyuck was in charge of getting food & beverages? He hated grocery shopping.
Anyway, now back to the house. The cooking went well, but Jungwoo insisted on buying the birthday cake. Even when Xiaojun offered to do the baking, Jungwoo said,
“let's get the real one. I know a place where we can get a perfect cake,” he said excitedly. Then, he beckoned Mark who was trying hard to blow the balloon over with his finger. Jungwoo smiled brightly. “—let's go Mark Anderson,”
And Mark just gave him an eye roll. That Anderson got him thinking. Where did the Anderson come from? Jungwoo had been calling him Anderson since forever and refused to drop the nickname.
“oh, come on. I need you to drive me there...” Jungwoo pouted.
While Mark silently muttered, “do I look like a driver to you?”
Lucky him only Xiaojun heard him. “you better go or else he won't stop talking about it,” Xiaojun chuckled and Mark had no choice but agreed with Jungwoo.
It was quite a journey and Matt came along with them, Jungwoo said they should have someone to pick the right cake for Donghyuck. And the perfect person for that was Matt. The whole trip, Jungwoo was more like a tour guide, he would talk nonstop, while giving direction to Mark.
After all, Jungwoo was always the chatterbox but Mark didn't mind. He enjoyed Jungwoo's company, the Omega was effortlessly funny at a certain time.
Well, of course. They've known each other since they were little, even though Jungwoo was two years older than him, but the latter always being a great friend and brother. The three of them, Mark, Donghyuck and Jungwoo were always together most of the time.
But not until Jungwoo got married to Lucas, they were quite distant.
Maybe this was why people said, when you have mates, you only want to be with that person, and you tend to forget about everybody else. Eventually, you start to lose your friend. They were off doing fun stuff without you. And when you're not with your mates anymore, you'll start looking for your old friend. By that time, you probably had a hard time adapting yourself.
Speaking of that, Mark wanted to ask why Lucas was not there today but he knew Jungwoo prefer him not to ask that. Jungwoo always kept things to himself, he might be bubbly and cheerful, but you'll never know what goes on his mind.
He seemed happy despite having many personal problems that he refused to share with others. Maybe he didn't want unwanted sympathy or getting tired of never-ending advice from negative people. So, he masked his sadness and loneliness by making a smile as his posture.
