Curiosity killed the cat.

Perfectly described the whole situation.

Haechan was bored.

Donghyuck prohibited him from going out. Something about privacy and kinds of stuff. The Alpha even warned him not to show his face around the neighborhood.

So, basically, Donghyuck was living without anyone knowing about his existence the whole time?

It's complicated, really. But that's not the point. The main point is Haechan was bored.

Mark had gone to work. Matthew was taking his afternoon nap and nobody was there to talk with him. So, he chose to wander around the house.

Haechan pressed open the door with the very tips of his fingers and stared into the room. The king-sized bed hadn't been made, and clothes were strewn messily all over the carpet.

'I guess someone's too lazy with the laundry'

A twinge of guilt invaded him when he remembered that Mark was a single dad who has a two years old pup to take care of. In the meantime, he has to work.

Should he help him with laundry?

Wait, No, that's not why he was there. He was just bored and maybe he could find something interesting in the Alpha's room.

A Compaq laptop sat closed, the rest of the surface was empty. There were three stuffed animals, one was the lion, the one that he remembered Matthew used to carry around. Maybe the baby would sleep with his dad sometimes even though he already has his own room in the house.

Haechan continued to scan around the room. Mark alphabetized all the books on his shelf-mostly science fiction and adventure books. From the collection of Harry Potter to the Maze Runner's books.

So, he's a bookworm?

Then, he tiptoed farther into the room to take a closer look at the college of photos housed under a glass pane near Mark's bed.

Most of the photos showed Mark and Donghyuck: Besties who having fun together, an old photo of them swimming together, and the cute childhood photos of them dressed for Halloween, with Mark dressed as Spiderman and Donghyuck as Michael Jackson.

Tacked along the border were several group shots of the football team, the boys holding a team tournament cup, Mark stood next to Donghyuck. Mark looked so happy in the picture, had blonde hair and Donghyuck with his chili chocolate hair.

Another photo was pinned in the corner of the bulletin board, overlapping other photos as if it had been hastily stuck there. A photo of Mark with a girl, Mark smiled broadly while the girl kissed his cheek.

One thing that went on Haechan's mind was - Is that Matthew's mom?

If so — he still keeps her picture, which means he's still hoping for her to come back into his life. Haechan smiled bitterly, maybe he was hoping too much. His fantasy-like relationship with Mark will never happen.

Then, a photo of newborn Matthew somehow made Haechan smile. How come the baby looked so cute like that? It was a photo of him in the baby incubator, wrapped in a blue baby swaddle blanket, looking fragile and small. Haechan's finger traced over the date written in Mark's handwriting: 5/3.

Wait. March 5th? That means the baby will be turning into two in five more days.
