"Today's our class Christmas party!" Yuki exclaimed as he, Sora, and Yoruko walked through the door of the school and into the entrance hall. "Did you guys get gifts for everybody?"
"Of course I did! First on the list, a mental help book for the Children of Utsuro!" Yoruko joked, and her boyfriend and girlfriend laughed along with her. "Though honestly, I can't wait to see what we got for each other!"
"You know, I might as well, give you mine now." The lucky student stopped at the side of the hallway and rampaged through his bag, pulling out a bag of americano coffee grounds for Sora and a bag of potpourri for Yoruko. "I-I'll give you more when Christmas actually comes, but I think this is good to start off with." He explained with a blushing face.
"Well, I-I don't think I'll be able to outdo the previous two years we've been dating, but since this is our final year here, I thought I might as well go all out." The hostess stammered.
"Well, it can't be anything like Sora giving me a porn magazine the first year we started dating." Yuki awkwardly chuckled.
"That was a gag gift, and you know that damn well." Sora replied, lightly giving Yuki a playful punch in the arm.
"B-By the way, what Yuki said applies to this too, I have more to give you guys on Christmas." Yoruko handed Sora a new set of scrunchies and Yuki a manga collection with a flustered look on her face.
"Wow, thank you so much!" Yuki exclaimed, then looked over at Sora. "Alright, are you gonna get yours out now?"
"Not yet, it's a surprise." The albino smiled, a hint of blush on her cheeks. "Wait until the end of the party, then I'll give then to you guys."
"Well, uh... I mean, if you say so." Yoruko put her gifts into a different compartment of her bag and slung it over her back. "Come on, guys, we don't wanna be late for the party!" She remarked, starting to walk with Sora at her side.
"Gah! Big Bro will kill me if I'm late!" Yuki exclaimed, quickly putting his gifts away and catching up with the girls.
"You better hurry up, then." Sora teased as the three of them headed up the stairs and into their classroom.
When they arrived, they spotted a potluck in the corner of the room and began helping themselves before the gift exchange began. Sora, Yoruko, and Yuki began going around the room and emptying their bags full of items.
Somehow, Syobai had dragged himself to the party, claiming that it was for the free stuff, even though he only gave coupons in return. He received a silver ring from Yoruko, more coupons to cheap places from Yoruko, and a bottle of alcohol from Sora, which he gladly accepted.
The five Children of Utsuro had pooled their funds together and bought decent things they thought their classmates would enjoy, like a maid dress for Sora, a box of fashion magazines for Yoruko, and a box of ramen for Yuki. In return, they got that promised mental help book from Yoruko, an old radio from Sora, and some manga from Yuki.
Throughout their gift-giving session, Yoruko and Yuki noticed the care that Sora was putting into the gifts for other people. Setsuka got a mystery novel, Kokoro got a huge psychology research book, the twins got a portable karaoke machine, Shinji got a shirt in his size saying 'hot as fire' (you should've seen the blush on his face), and Yuri got high heels. But the albino wouldn't show them the gift she got them.
Finally, the party was over, but Sora led her girlfriend and boyfriend to an empty spot in the courtyard before they went to go home. "Alright, are you guys ready to see what I got you?" The albino asked, though she sounded a lot more nervous than before."
"Yeah, let's see!" Yuki excitedly encouraged.
Sora dug into her pockets and produced two golden rings. "I...I got these for you!" She smiled.
"Oh, those look really pretty! They must have cost a lot too." He commented. "I know it's Christmas, but I can't think of an occasion that needs you to spend so much money on us. You usually spend your money through Syobai when you want expensive things..."
All of a sudden, the albino dropped to one knee. "How about now?" She asked smoothly.
The three of them fell silent for a few seconds as Yuki and Yoruko blushed scarlet red. "Wh-What, I-" Yoruko stuttered before getting her words in order. "A-Are you PROPOSING to us?!" She squeaked.
"We're all legal adults, so I don't see why not. And frankly, I don't see myself anywhere except with you two." Sora smiled. "So I may need help with my wedding: you guys need to be at the altar."
At this point, Yuki and Yoruko's speaking comprehension was nigh-improbable, but when Yuki kneeled down to hug the albino, Yoruko followed suit. Interpreting the gestures as a big 'yes', Sora began to tear up, the moisture feeling cold as it left her eyes.
With great effort, Sora managed to stand all three of them up, where they hugged some more with happy tears in their eyes. "So, I may have already asked Hibiki to plan our wedding yesterday..." Sora explained as she began to walk home with her new fiancés.
