Natalie's sight was blurry as she was opening her eyes. She woke up with a massive headache and her body was so exhausted that she couldn't get up. She couldn't even say a word; for her mouth was just as tired that all she could say is a small mumble.
Natalie saw a straw roof over her and heard crackling of fire nearby. She slowly looked left and saw a brown hooded figure roasting marshmallows.
"No don't move, just relax," the figure approached Natalie as she moaned her way trying to slowly get up. Natalie slowly rested her head back on the nice comfortable brown pillow.
"Where am I?"
"Don't worry about that, just relax; you need some rest after I found you alone in that crash site."
"I was never alone there, I was with my friends. Where are they?"
"I don't know, I didn't see anyone on the beach except you. You must have got separated somehow."
"Who are you?"
The figure opened up her hood and revealed a girl with beautiful skin, pale blue eyes, and ashen hair tied up in a pigtail. "My name is Liliana."
"Well, I'm Natalie. Could you tell me where we are now?"
"In the Abandoned Wastelands."
"What?!" Natalie tried to get up quickly.
"Calm down! Calm down! You're safe for now."
"Could my friends be here? My brother?!"
"I don't know."
"I gotta find them," Natalie immediately got off the bed. "Do you think you can help me? I imagine you know more about the Wastelands than I do."
"I lived here for ten years."
"How did you end up here?"
Liliana didn't answer, "I shall take you to them. The best place you could find sanctuary is the Platinum City; people there were saved and are now protected by the Mersians."
"The Mersians?"
"They are people who could walk on land and sea. They can manipulate earth and water. You wouldn't want to get on their bad side."
"Do you think my friends could possibly go there?"
"We have to make sure they do."
