It's been a few hours since Zain and Lucas got past the swamp. They were sitting on a log next to each other warming up by the fire.
"What was that place?" Lucas asked.
"I don't know," Zain replied, "The mist showed me Alex pushing me into quicksand."
Lucas couldn't speak.
"It seems as though it shows us our greatest fear of the future and triggers our darkest memories of the past," Zain said.
"Do you think our visions were true?"Lucas asked.
"I don't know," Zain replied, "It's possible."
"Do you think Alex would ever push you into quicksand?"
"Honestly... it feels like it is true; but I don't think it is. Alex and I may have a complicated relationship right now but he will never do that."
"We can't even tell if the swamp told us lies or not," Lucas started to panic. He grabbed his head and covered his ears, "I don't want it to be true; I don't want it to be true..."'
"I wouldn't want it to be true either," Zain tried to calm him down, "The best thing we can do is ask Natalie about it; she will know the truth."
"I hope we can find her."
"I hope so too."
