A/N: If you're wondering what my posting schedule is- don't. The truth is I don't have a posting schedule, I only ever have time to write while I'm at work and I don't have a fixed work schedule since I also go to school. But anygay, I'm happy to announce we have officially hit the half mark! I've planned to write 6 more chapters of this story, this might change in the future though! Having all that said, happy reading everyone <3

His muscles felt soar and his entire body was tired. He was tired. Kaminari stretched, hissing at the way his muscles burned at the movement. He should really stretch more often. Being a hero was hard and it was really taking a toll on his body. He wasn't weak, not even close, but sometimes his busy schedule kept him away from working out and keeping in shape. He always thought that hero work would be a workout in and of itself, but extra work was definitely needed. Kirishima and Bakugou always took a weekend off every month where they would work out together. He seriously needed to take after his friends.
Kaminari made a mental note to add daily stretches to his routine. He could practically hear Bakugou in his head calling him an idiot for not taking care of himself in the first place. Bakugou was caring in an aggressive way and that fact never failed to amuse Kaminari. To this day Kaminari swears he once heard Bakugou yell at Kirishima that the man was the love of his life.
Kaminari sighed. He'd been doing that a lot lately. Aizawa had left his office an hour ago, but Kaminari stayed seated at his desk chair. He was thinking. He was thinking too much. His conversation with his former homeroom teacher had been helpful and reassuring, to say the least, but it had also brought back painful memories. At least he knew now, that he wasn't the only one affected by Shinsou being a villain.
He walked to the closet in his office and pulled out his casual clothing, placing them on his desk chair, then faced the mirror. He takes off his hero costume slowly, watching his own body carefully. Not a single scratch on him. Not one from today, at least. His body was painted with scars of all sorts. Some from his opponents and some from his own quirk. Ever since he was a kid, his quirk has made patterns all over his body. They're red when they first appear but fade into a white tone as time passes by. Lichtenberg figures. He drags his finger along one of the figures then pulls away and gets dressed. He was proud of his scars, no matter how he got them. They were proof that he'd fought hard after all.
Knock knock. He turned towards his door to see Sero with a hand raised in a fist. "Hey man," Sero starts, Kaminari acknowledging him with a nod as he starts packing his hero costume in its case, "are you okay?" Kaminari shakes his head slightly, unsure how much he wanted to tell, "I've seen better days, but I'll be fine." Sero pauses for a moment, having clearly expected some sort of deflection or lie. Kaminari was too tired to lie and besides, this was Sero. He could be honest with Sero.
Sero takes a few steps, entering Kaminari's office, "You want me to call up the squad? Chill in that bar you like so much?" Kaminari chuckles, "You know me so well, Hanta, my beloved." The man in question's eyes widen, a rose blush dusting his cheeks at the flirtation. "All jokes aside though, I don't want to involve them all in my mess. Can we hang out? Just the two of us?" Sero wiggles his eyebrows, amused, "If I didn't know any better I'd think you were trying to romance me, Denki." They stare at each other wide-eyed for a second and then burst out laughing. Talking to Sero was easy. They always ended up reduced to two giggling idiots in one way or another. He liked the familiarity of it all. Sero was the first one to recover, "I've missed this, bro. But yes, we can go alone." Kaminari nods in appreciation. Sero always got him.
The walk to the bar was quiet. They didn't need to say anything, just walked beside each other in comfortable silence. Kaminari always thought that Sero might be his soulmate. In another life, they might've even loved each other romantically. In this one, they didn't love each other in any way other than platonic, though. He was grateful for that. They may flirt sometimes, but they never saw each other as more than friends. It was always just right with the two of them. They never talked about it, the whole soulmate thing, but Kaminari knew Sero felt the same way.
