The reservation system is a system put in place to keep native Americans off land that Europeans wanted to settle on, they "allowed indigenous people to govern themselves and to maintain some of their cultural and social traditions." according to khan academy, which is a quite optimistic perspective on reservations, although I see them as land prisons, forcing people of a nation that we conquered to live in a space that we determine. If we are to truly make progress as a nation then we should at least allow these people enough to have land that is actually close to their original home. And that may just be my inner anarchist revolutionary speaking out against the US government for any reason I can, but one cannot say that there is no logic in my words.
