Business Arrangement Blurb:
I agreed to it, I had no choice but to do so, even if I had never met the man who preferred to surround himself with friends over family. The man who was rumoured to have his own Mafia, not that I truly believed much of it, I claimed to know nothing, to being the daughter this strange man agreed to marry over my two older sister's, both his age and he chooses me.
I was petrified, standing there in my school uniform, about to ask Mom if I could take a bus ride to the school, before I hear, "I was not told you had another daughter." A deep voice says above me, I ignore him, grabbing a green apple from the main table, sensing far too many eyes on me.
"She's not of age." Dad says, stoically.
"I don't care." The same voice says again.
"Please, not my Lyra." Mom whispers while I plug in my earphones, tie my blonde strands up and act oblivious.
"I've read her file and discussed with my council, when she is ready, she may join me in my business, but I won't marry either of your oldest daughters. Lyra Stinger, she is to wed me in the next fortnight, or I'll destroy the lot of you. Darren, follow the girl to school, keep me updated." I hear behind me, and almost scoff as I step through the main gates and nod to the two guards.
This bastard doesn't know who he's asking to wed.
