BLURB
I knew he was going to lose it all when I moved, slipped from the cracks and from his hesitant fingers. Edmond Lawson was a known enemy to the head leader of the school I attend now, the rival school to the home I grew up in, when life was as luxurious as could be before I lost both my parents in the most tragic of ways. His name is Aidan Freeman. The silver-eyed hunk of a man with the perceptive precision of Gollum and his precious ring, before it was lost, of course.
When I first met Aidan, I was in Statistics, seated beside him and his closest friends, Maven Flynn and Cameron Devin. Julius Lang was the only male in the group with a girl on his arm, Mira, the girl I became friends with first before Maven became my study buddy, even while I knew he wanted more. Even Aidan, who use to stare at me with those intense eyes, sometimes he still does when I sit at their designated popular area in school.
All before the strawberry blonde new girl with a mystery and a past rather troubling comes running in and becomes the new 'it' girl. Amber Liaison. A girl who wore high heels to school, much like Mira, but very unlike me.
CHAPTER 1:
"What is going on?" I ask Mira, after she pulled me along, meeting up with Julius when I see the new girl standing in front of Aidan in such a manner, looking pissed off and ready to throttle him. I watch her shove him out of her face when he gets in real close and tries to come across intimidating. I knew he had it rough with his Mom losing her hold on reality, but to see him so moody all the time was tiring. I watch the new girl scream when he throws her over his shoulder after being called a steroid-walking brute with freaking antlers for ears. I watch Maven and Cameron follow.
"Seriously, what was that?" I ask Mira as Julius chuckles and wraps an arm around her waist, pulling her in close for a cuddly good morning kiss. I fold my arms and roll my eyes, pulling out my phone and almost jolting when Maven drops his arm around my shoulders.
"Ballsy bitch that one." He kisses my temple good morning, Aidan stares at us closely, or rather at me, but I ignore the intimidating eyes and just walk mindlessly, allowing Maven to leave his arm around me. Maven use to be such a bloody player, every party the boys had, he'd hook up with a new girl before slowing it down and now, I only ever see pictures of him and the guys.
I cover up a yawn, moving towards my seat before catching the strawberry blonde sitting there, listening to music, "She lied about her fucking class." Cameron mutters, looking to Aidan, who narrows his eyes and steps towards her, ripping out her ear phones.
"Get out of her seat." He spits at her, glaring down at her.
She scoffs and looks up at him, "Just who are you even talking about and what part of get out of my face did you not comprehend?" She levelled up to him easily. Maven scoffs and grabs her stuff before she could complain and dumps it in the far side of the room.
"You can sit over there." He orders her, holding the chair out for me. And for the first time, she looks at me. I expected her to be pissed and all bitchy, but instead she stares at me, my hair first, my skin and my uniform. Maven helps me in, just as Aidan and Cameron sit behind us. Throughout class, I stayed quiet while Cameron spoke of the party they planned on having this Friday, especially since tests and exams were coming up in a couple weeks. I listen to Professor Hansel when he begins speaking of the upcoming report. Typing away at my laptop when I sense eyes.
I glance over to Maven, "What is it?" I ask him.
He flips his pencil in hand, "Can you come to this party?" He asks me, pleading.
"I know how many crashers you get, Maven, no." I tell him, instantly.
"You won't see any of them. I promise." Aidan murmurs behind me, I side glance over my shoulder, his silver eyes penetrating the back of my head. Cameron smirks next to him, wiggling his eyebrows at me, while Maven scowls and fidgets in his seat, going on his phone.
