Chapter 2: Discovery

        "Sigh. I don't understand why he doesn't trust you, Chris! We work at the same place, we meet each other and bang! I told him about you but he wants to meet you personally. Hmph!" "Relax, I don't mind! Besides, you can't grumpy for that! C'mon! You have your little bro to be with you! Right?" "Yeah. Besides, I was also mad at him but I kinda forgot about it! I'm glad I can spend time with you, Kristy!" I turned around my seat while Chris drives back home. "Mad at Luke? Why?" "I told him that I was okay staying with you a few days but then he told I had to stay with you for a few weeks! He refused to tell me! That secret case he said!" "Ohh, yeah. I hate that idea of an secret case." "What's that about? A case that's secret?" "He told me a bit of about it but I know nothing! I asked where he was going and he tricked me for not knowing!" "So much for forgetting. Just forget about that and think how things we can do all three together! Well, first put away your stuff and then we have fun!" "Kristy? If it's not too much to say but I can sleep in Luke's room?" I stopped to ponder why would he ask? "Why…?" "So, I won't miss Luke while I don't get to see him." "Fine, but you'll have to clean it. Its been awhile since we opened the room. Ever since you guys moved, so like 4 years." "That's not that much time. Here we are!" "Oh!! It's our neighbor, Maggie!! Can we please say hi to her?!" "Of course, she's still your neighbor!" When Chris powered off the car, Will jumped out to give Maggie a hug. "Oh my goodness! How you have grown so much! How are you, Wilson?" "I'm fine, Maggie! Luke has been taking care of me!" "Ah, yes. I remember Luke. Thank God he can take care of you! Hello Kristy dear! Hello there, Chris!" We both said our hellos to her and she kept talking. "To welcome your visit, I'll invite you all to my house and I'll make my favorite famous, Jello!" "No way!!! Can we go, Kristy?! Please!" "Of course, as long we don't stay up too late!" "Let's go! I haven't tried them yet!" We went inside and I heard the tv was on. "You can head to the living room. I do have the tv but I won't mind if you change it! I'll back with the Jello! Won't be for long!" We sat down on the couch and on the TV, she had on the news channel. "Do you want to change the channel or not, Will?" "Nah. It's fine as it is right now. I like this channel." We watched a bit until they were showing the a crime scene when Maggie came back. "Ah, I see you're seeing the same channel. Such shame what's going on around. I hope someone can actually stop this mess! It'll be hopeless for all of us when they're all gone!" "What will be gone? I don't understand..." "You don't know my dear? Dear Lord! Everyone is talking about it! It's even in the newspaper! Detectives are disappearing and no one knows why!" "Wait, what?! You said detectives?!" "Yes, Kristy. In that crime scene, a second detective who disappeared died from something. The dead body was missing something but I won't tell in front of Will. It's the same as the first. Kristy... If I recall right, isn't your brother a detective?!" "He is!! Oh no!!" Will gasped while Chris shook his head. "He's in danger! Someone had to make him not to tell anyone where he was going so no one would have evidence! You have no idea where he is right?!" "No!! He WAS going to tell me but made fun at me! Oh, Luke..." I looked at the time and it was 7:30. "I'm going to call right now!! I need to make sure he's okay!! I'll be back." I walked out of the living room and entered the kitchen. I marked Luke's number and he responded at the third ring. "Hello?" "Luke?! Where are you right now?! I'm now worried!!" "I'm sorry! I can't talk now!" "Duck!!!" I heard a gun firing and panicked! "Luke?!?" "I'm fine for now! I'll get home tomorrow. Don't go outside for no reason! Be safe wherever are you!! Bye! Ack!!" He didn't hang up but the call got disconnected. Luke… Be safe and come back home alive... Wherever you are...

      This was short but I'll posting chapter 3 very soon! Maybe tomorrow or Saturday. I only got one more week until Winter break!! Yay!! And I do hope to see snow but I doubt I'll be seeing anything at all! A tiny little spoiler: There will be new people next chapter! It'll be long this time! Hope you have a great day and be safe!
