December 24

It had been snowing for hours and I just finished my fruit salad, I went on shopping with my mum to buy some things we were going to use to celebrate Christmas, everyone already wrapped their Christmas present including Katie, we kept them under the Christmas tree while mum prepares a delicious meal my favorite beans cake, and waffles, after eating I realize that it had stopped snowing so I got my winter coat on and my gloves, I went out to mold a snowman out of snow, of cause all snowman is made out of snow.

I've got my carrot for the nose, sticks for the hands, two pairs of buttons, and a funky red and white hat, I sat on a small chair I saw behind the garden ready to start molding the snowman when I heard someone call me.

"Hey, Shirley."

I turned to Annette and Beatrice they were standing at the entrance of the gate.

"Oh my God!" I yelled, as they walked close to me, we wrapped each other in an intense bear hug.

"Wanna build a snowman without us?" Beatrice said and we all laughed.

"I miss you so much, both of you," I said almost in tears.

"We miss you, even more, we talk about you every day and night, how brave you were, and how much we want to be like you," Annette said from behind.

"How did you know I was here, who told you?"

"Your mum did and your grandma too."

"What about your parents?"

"They are fine."

"Snowball fight!" Shouted Annette.

"No no...anything but not that," I waved my hands in disgust.

"Oh yes!" Annette shouted and tossed a snowball at me, I narrowed my eyes.

"So that's how you wanna play ahn?" I threw mine at her and the snowball fight began.

"Look at my snowman it looks like Shirley when she is angry?" Beatrice joked and I laughed and threw a snowball at her, she quickly rolled her own and threw it at me.

After so much running, snowball fight, after building our snowman, it was evening when we stopped grandma called us inside for some snacks and hot tea, grandma told us a story and now it was time for Annette and Beatrice to go home, I gave them two invitation card to give to their parent inviting them to come and celebrate Christmas with us, grandma gave them a box of chocolate to give to their parent.

My mum also gave Imogen's parents the invitation card, I secretly gave one to dad.

"Don't look at me like that, I'm not a bad person, do you think I'm happy seeing my parent apart," I told Jeffrey and gave him some treats.

I've done my best now it's up to dad to make things right I went to the church to pray with grandma that evening I told her about what I did.

She gasped. "Why, my dear Shirley you know your father is just going to cause more trouble for us."

"He won't." I knew for sure that dad regret his action and miss us a lot Imogen told me how he usually would come to her to ask if she knew anything about me, or where we live. Grandma stared at me for a while. "He won't, how did you know that."

"Trust me, he won't we all are going to experience the miracle of Christmas this year, and guess what grandma, it already started."

"My sweetie, you are such a blessing to this family." She hugged me so tight for a very long time. "God bless you, my baby, I love you so much."

My eyes widened I've heard that word almost a thousand times, but hearing it from my Grandma makes it tremendous.
