"Do you understand me?" They asked, waving their hand in front of my face. I paused, blinking. I recognized that voice, those eyes, their hair... I grabbed her hand, not caring that mine was covered in my blood from the cut.
"Seren?" I asked, just above a whisper. This couldn't be true. This couldn't be her. It wasn't possible. She pulled her hand away, wiping my blood off of it.
"Good, you're ok. Let's go." Was all she said, a little too fast. Was she flustered? I stood up, wincing at my hand. "You're going to need to get that cleaned. We um- we have a doctor. I'll take you to her as soon as possible." I took a double glance at her. This had to Seren. There's no other way.
"Where are we going? Where did you come from?" I asked, letting my suspicions on her identity loom over my chest. She sighed.
"Have you heard of the fog troupe?" She retaliated to my question with her own. I frowned, but nodded. "Drakie over here wouldn't stop whining about his friend that we left behind. Told us we needed to go back and save him. I didn't expect it to be you though, Sin." Slowly, she removed her hood and mask, revealing the face I dreamt of. It was Seren- in the flesh! I didn't think, I just ran to her, wrapping my arms around her, squeezing. I didn't care how hard, she needed to know how much I missed her.
"I'm so happy you're ok!" I cried, filled with joy and relief of seeing my friend again. Serendine reciprocated the hug, and I was surprised when she squeezed tighter than I was. I would've thought she'd still be upset... that I had rejected her. Yet, here we were, hugging each other like if we let go, we'd loose the other. When we finally pulled away, Seren placed her hand on my cheek.
"You're alive... he's going to be so happy." Was all she said, before turning away. She tried to hide her blush, but I could see it coming over her ear. I smirked, but didn't say anything. Then, she cleared her throat, pointing to the bed. "Don't ever do that again." I blinked, before realizing. She didn't give me time to respond. "Come on, let's get out of here. We need to get you to Yam." Yam?! She was alive too? I followed Seren out of the cabin room, out into the fields. We hid in the bushes, listening to the sounds of gunfire. I smelt smoke, too. Was this Alibobo- is that his name- guy here? Suddenly, Seren grabbed my wrist, yanking me on to follow her. Gunshot fired behind us.
"Stop!" Great. It was a guard. I guessed they weren't able to distract everyone... I thought about throwing some fire at them, but stopped short of myself when I heard them scream. What the hell?! I turned around to see, but only got a glimpse of our savior before they ran off.
We rounded a corner, hiding in some old brush. The exit was right there! I had to get her out, no matter what! I wouldn't loose Serendine again. She had to get out of here.
Seren looked around, only to nod. "We're clear." She murmured, standing up and walking to the exit. I followed, cautiously. If anything were to happen to her, I would never forgive myself- as if I've already forgiven myself for what had happened to Jafar. "Sin. I need you to stay focused. No side missions, no extra thoughts. We're getting you out of here." I found myself enchanted by Seren's voice. It oozed with confidence, one I didn't recognize from her younger self. In fact, she'd cut her hair. Everything about her was different. Her whole demeanor was different. She was more confident now, more stern, more powerful. Of course, I liked her before- but now... how couldn't I like her?
"Is it just you and Yam or..?" I asked, trying to get my mind off her. Seren sighed, but not out of annoyance. It was more of a tired sigh.
"Yam, Kougie, Shar, Drakie, Laya, me, and-"
"Out of the way!" I recognized that voice. Sharrkan?! I turned in the direction of his voice, my eyes widening. There they all were, alive. Of course, they all looked different and were definitely older now, but here they were, alive and safe. Well- not so safe. Sharrkan was driving the truck, with Kougyoku beside him, firing a pistol out the window at the PSI workers. Yamuraiha was sitting on the bed of the truck, aiming a rifle and firing. Laya was beside her, zapping ongoing PSI workers left and right- a yellow. Drakon was in the backseats of the truck, calling out instructions to Sharrkan on where to go.
