It had been a week.

As I went out hunting with one of Kouen's half-brothers, Kouha, I had found myself unreasonably shaken. I felt like something urgent had to be dealt with, and I didn't know of it yet. Or, I had forgotten? Forgotten what, though? I turned to look at where Kouha had just shot a bunny. I grimaced, seeing blood trickle down it's leg. It reminded me of back in that PSI camp. There was always either something bleeding, dying or puking there. I turned away to stop myself from puking, noticing something up in the distance. It looked like some sort of red light, and it seemed to be coming closer... and closer and... closer. Shit.

"KOUHA GET DOWN!" I yelled, darting behind a tree. All I had was a knife and a bow, since Kouen didn't want me with guns just yet. Kouha was armed, but not too well. He had a pistol, bow, and knife. He managed to jump out of the way right as a shot rang out. A PSI truck... I ducked further behind the tree as the truck stopped, the doors swinging open and multiple workers jumped outside. They were all dressed in camouflaged suits and jackets, with masks covering their mouths and goggles that made it impossible to see who it was. They held rifles, pistols, and other weapons that we just didn't have. We were outnumbered and outmatched. I took a glance over to where Kouha had darted off to, and noticed he was holding his leg. Shoot. He'd been hit.

"I grazed the kid, at least. If he's still able to run, we'll be able to find him with his blood trail." One worker said, pulling his machine gun out of the truck. Why in the hell would they need a fucking machine gun to take down kids!? I decided to leave that question for another day, as I felt the urge to run to Kouha's side. I had only known him for a few days, but he'd become like a little brother to me. I had felt as if I was meant to be an older brother, especially now as the workers rounded up near his location. I felt the urge to protect, which was odd because even though we weren't all too close... I needed to protect him.

"We need to hurry and catch him before the leg gets infected." Another worker spoke, looking around the trees. "That'll be bad news to the boss."

"Yeah... what kid are we looking for exactly again? What's the name? Ughh... oh yeah! Sinbad!" My eyes widened, my heart thumping against my chest wildly. They were looking for me? It took me a moment to reorganize my thoughts, as I stood up from my hiding spot. Right as I did, one of the workers spotted Kouha, who had been trying to control his breathing. They raised their gun at him. "Sigh... this ain't the kid." He stated, his finger slowly pulling on the trigger. I felt everything go into slow motion from there, as I ran, darted faster than I thought my slim, skinny body could go, and toppled with the worker. A shot rang out once more, and everyone pulled their guns up and aimed them at me.

"This' the kid!" One shouted. "Hold fire, hold fire!" I stood up, backing away quickly. They wouldn't touch me, wouldn't get their hands on me. Not until Kouha was safe. I took the chance to glance over to him, and my eyes widened. He'd gone limp, a clear gun shot wound on his chest. My heart raced, my mind darted, my fears skyrocketed. Had I just gotten him... killed. Flashes came to my mind, where replaced on the snow was a little boy with white hair. It almost blended in with the snow. I collapsed onto the ground, blinking wildly. Wasn't able to cry, wasn't able to scream. I just sat there, almost defeated.

...

I was taken away in the truck. The entire time I kept on thinking, "who was that person I saw," and, "why him?" Why did Kouha have to die? Was I just so useless that I couldn't save anyone? "When the time comes and you're not prepared for it, one of you is going to get hurt," Those words repeated in my head. Hina. He had warned me about this, about losing people. It seemed I had failed him as well. I had failed everyone... Hina, my parents, my friends, Kouen, Kouha... my... My thoughts were interrupted by the door opening. "Come on, boss' waitin' for ya'." I didn't want to go. I'd be killed. Yet, I had no other choice but to walk through deaths door. Maybe the Grim Reaper would be kind enough to save me a spot in heaven... not hell.

We walked for a while, my hands tied by a rope that they pulled on and a blindfold over my eyes. I could hear people, or kids, working away in most likely fields, just as I did. I felt the urge to cry, as memories of my own experience at a camp flooded inside my brain, but I couldn't. No tears would come.

"Why do you think the boss wants him?" I heard a worker ask.

"Don't know. He won't say. Maybe has some relation to the kid?"

"Relation? Maybe... they don't really look alike."

"Who knows. All I know is that if you keep on asking questions you're gonna get your ass beat."

"Yeah, yeah. Do you think lunch is the same today?"

"Mm, nah. Heard they brought in burgers."

"Oh yes." I felt enraged. The workers get all the food they could ever wish for, yet the kids, who mind them, work hours and hours non-stop and most of the time don't get any food. These pigs. Then, I heard a door open, and my blindfold was take off of me right as they sat me in a chair. When my eyes adjusted to the light in the room, I looked at a familiar face; a face I thought I'd never see again.

"H-Hina?"

...

"Good morning, Sinbad." Hina had his hands resting atop his desk, firmly held together. His pose was intimidating, harsh and stern. It made me quiver. This wasn't the man I knew, wasn't the man who babysat me. "I hope my workers treated you well?" I could sense the others in the room tensing, and I looked down at the deep lines covering my wrists from where the rope had been tied.

"They were... mediocre." I said, trying my best to keep enthusiastic in front of an old friend. His expression didn't change, and he waved his men out of the room. The tension in the air suddenly decreased as he seemed to lower his guard a little. I could see a gentle smile forming on his features when he gripped my hands slightly, running his fingers over my faded muscles.

"I apologize, for not protecting you, for letting you slip away." He says, almost at a whisper. I blink, and shake my head.

"No! It's not you're..." I stop. In truth, it was his fault. Of course I didn't want him to feel guilty, but I couldn't lie to him either. I sighed, and Hina chuckled and shook his head.

"After you disappeared, Jafar went out looking for you... never found him, either. Yelled at me a lot, especially when I ordered him to stay inside the car." I blinked, letting a confused look slip onto my face.

"Hina..." the man in question looked up at me, and gave me his own confused look. "Who's Jafar?"

...

"You don't remember?" Hinahoho asked, a look of shock in his eyes. I shook my head, sincerely. Hina gripped my shoulders. "Have you recently got a head injury or something? Jafar was everything to you- he was- is- your little brother! I've spent the last 4 years looking for the both of you!" I frowned.

"I... I don't remember. I've never known anyone named Jafar, Hina. Are you sure you're not thinking of someone else?" I could almost see Hina's thoughts across his face. Pain, guilt, confusion, shock and most of all sadness. He looked at me, pained look in his eyes, before wrapping his arms around me.

"Oh if Jafar was here now... You'd know... you'd just know..."
