For the next 11 days from babies' birth Sulochana took care of Sana and the babies, whereas Sidharth wasn't allowed to meet them. It was a tradition wherein it is believed that the newborn infants are prone to infections leading to higher infant mortality rate during this period.

He waited eagerly to see his beloved wife and the two little munchkins on the 12th day. They were to be named today by their paternal aunt, Sukanya.

Sulochana bathed the two babies and burnt the dhoop and let the aroma spread in the room as a natural disinfectant.

Sana put a black dot on their forehead to ward of evil eyes. The two babies were dressed in washed new cotton clothes. They looked adorable and cute.

Sidharth picked them up in his arm and rocked them happily. He looked at Sana. She had worn a dark green saree and looked gorgeous herself even with those tired eyes.

Sidharth: You look exhausted yet so beautiful sweetheart. Are my little munchkins troubling you a lot?

Sana nods yes with a pout.

Sana: If one stops crying the other starts. They just don't stay with saasumaa but want me to hold them.

Sidharth: But look at them, they are so comfortable with me.

Sana: Yes, I miss you.

Sidharth: I miss you too. (Puppy eyes)

The ceremony begins and Sukanya whispers the names 3 times in the babies' ears and then declares the name "Kavya and Santosh"

They placed the little babies in the new cradle as they celebrate the ceremony.

Sidharth: (whispers) Sana, this will solve your issue and get them adjusted to it since I can't allow them to sleep in between us after 3 months. I am so eagerly waiting for them to complete 3 months to cuddle you again and sleep in your embrace.

Sana blushes as she turns red. The goldsmith arrives to pierce the little baby's ears. Sidharth holds the baby in his lap while he pierces their ears in turns. Each time she heard the baby cry, Sana pressed Sidharth's arm with her eyes closed unable to see the scene.

Sidharth: Sana, it's done!

Sana opens her eyes and looks at their ears which was red and had a gold earrings dangling in it. Her eyes were filled with tears as she cuddled them both in turns.

Sidharth: They will be fine sweetheart, look they have stopped crying as well.

Sana nods. Sulochana gifts the two babies gold ring and puts a gold necklace in little Santosh's neck. Sana looks at Sidharth with a sad face as baby Kavya's neck was empty. Sidharth chooses to keep quiet because of guests.

2 days later, Sidharth gets an exact gold chain from the jeweller for Kavya. Sana felt relief and was happy to see it.

Kavya: (sobbing) Maa, Santosh pushed me. (Shows her bruises)

Sana: Santosh? Why did you do this? (Presses his ears softly)

Santosh shrieks loudly even though it didn't pain him.

Sulochana: What is this Bahu? Why are you hitting my grandson? He is a little kid, they play and get hurt as well. You have brain right? Use it. Why punish him?

Sana: I didn't press hard Saasumaa. He needs to be thought not to be rude to his sister as well.

Sulochana: So you think a little child is lying when he is shrieking in pain? Don't forget she will marry and go to her husband's house and will have to learn to adjust. She will burn hands, get cuts while cooking and also needs to bear labour pain. So don't overreact when she gets hurt. He will stay with you even after you get old, be nice to him.

Sana chooses to keep quiet than arguing with her mother-in-law. She takes Kavya to the room and applies medicine on the bruises and kisses her.

Sana was super annoyed as she canned Santosh. 6 year old Santosh cried on top of his voice. Sulochana pulls Santosh behind her.

Sulochana: How dare you hit my grandson?

Sana: (lost her calm) Your grandson is my son as well and I have all the rights to bring him on the right track when he is doing wrong.

Sulochana: Now you are disrespecting me?

Sana: No, I am disciplining my child and I am asking you to not interfere.

Sidharth overhears them as he walked inside the house. He looks at crying Santosh and the cane in Sana's hand.

Sidharth: What happened?

Sulochana: She is beating Santosh mercilessly like an animal.

Sidharth: What? Sana? What did he do?

Sana: He came to me in the afternoon to ask for sweet. I asked him to wait until it cools down. After sometime when I went to the kitchen, I saw the entire earthen pot broken and the sweets destroyed. I still was calm and confronted him but he denied his deeds. Kavya told me the truth that it was him. I scolded him. After an hour I found Kavya crying, he hit her so hard that she had blood flowing from her forehead. After I gave first aid to Kavya, I went to search for him and found him eating sweet which he got from the nearby shop. When I scolded him and asked him from where he got the money, he said he stole it from your pant pocket in the morning.

Sulochana: Bahu, it isn't stealing, he just took what belonged to him. He is Sidharth's son and he can use his money.

Sidharth: Maa, please things are going out of our hands just because of your blind love towards your grandson. He won't be only your grandson for entire life. He is our son, Kavya's brother, someone's future husband and most importantly he is a citizen of this nation. Our family has the name for sacrificing their lives for this nation. If he grows up to be a thief or a dacoit, he will spoil their name/reputation as well.

I avoided to speak on this partiality and blind love for quite some time but this is just over the limit. I want the same values and principles to be imparted to him which I acquired from my father and elder brother.

You have given birth to me and have all the rights on me, similarly Sana has rights on Santosh. If you seek respect from us, you should also behave in such a way that Santosh provides respect to his mother.

He has lied, hit Kavya and stole money. He deserves punishment. Either you allow Sana to discipline him or I will send him to boarding school.

Sulochana was angry, she went to her room at once.

Sidharth: Sana, I understand you lost your calm. Anybody would but we should not give up to violence. I am a senior Professor and I have to deal with many more students, imagine if I lose my temper like this then what would be the consequences.

Sana nods and puts her head down. Sidharth then sits with Santosh and starts reasoning and asking him questions on his behaviour during the entire day. He helps him answer the question to decide if what he did was right or wrong by himself. Later Santosh seeks forgiveness from Sana, Kavya and Sulochana as well.

When her anger diminished, Sulochana realised her mistake and apologized to Sana in kitchen.
