Loki sat huddled up on the sofa at home with a novel in his hands, carefully flipping the pages over each time he needed to, when he heard something peculiar. He had the television on as background noise, set as the news channel, looking frantic, the news woman spoke,
"The footage you are about to see it highly sensitive and shows blood and death if these are subjects that will affect you and or you are under the age of 18, please ensure you watch with an adult."
Loki watched with furrowed eyebrows as Rory's puppets murdered and terrorised people across New York City. The bank hostages, the sniper, the teacher in the high school, the college student murder, the lorry crash. There were news reporters on each crime scene, you could hear the sirens in the background, the ambulances treating the injured, the body bags being hauled up onto gurney's whilst family members stood by watching in tears, one woman screaming and punching the chest of another man's chest wanting to get into the ambulance with her boyfriend. There were police stood with witnesses, comforting them and prying out any information possible.
The news woman spoke again, "Today across New York City five incidents have occurred. The first was thought to be a bank robbery which consisted of a male and female, both with guns, both highly dangerous with threats. One security guard died on the scene. An elderly woman and a father both sacrificed their lives to protect a young boy witnesses say. The whole ordeal was caught on camera and the shooters in the end decided to end their lives but not before saying the phrase that New York City might remember from a stabbing in which the killer Daniel Storm slit a woman's throat on the streets of New York and then slit his own throat after saying, '"It was necessary... your welcome master..."'. This phrase was said at the scene of the bank hostages."
Loki widened his eyes and reached to increase the volume of the television.
"The second incident today involved an LDS which you might know as a sniper. A father and son were murdered in cold blood when exiting their workplace. The police quickly found the angle the bullet must have been fired from and when they found the gun, surprisingly they found the shooter, a woman, seemed to have once again ended her own life and left a note stating, "It was necessary... your welcome master..."."
"The third incident today was in a high school downtown, two armed men got access to a school. The video footage shows a history teacher being shot before each of the men shot each other, once again their last words were "It was necessary... your welcome master...""
"The fourth incident today was on a college campus, two female shooters threatened a female student with a gun before ordering everybody to record them, witnesses say one particular male student claimed to not have a phone which riled up on of the women, leading to him being shot twice as a result. Whilst everybody else was filming the women then spoke those words just like the others, "It was necessary... your welcome master...". They then shot each other."
"The most recent incident was, one witnesses said, 'the most terrifying thing I have ever seen.' A lorry ploughed through a market full of people. This footage is live at the sight of the crash, there are still many emergency services on the scene... here we will pass over to Tate Marsh, who is fortunate enough to get a closer look..."
Loki watched as the screen changed to show a woman who he presumed to be a reporter stood describing what she could see, "So far the casualty rate seems to be 5, but the police are unaware of how many more are stuck underneath all of the rubble. Here we have Josh... Josh you were walking down the street when the lorry crashed, could you tell me what you saw?"
"Oh god, it was so bad, the screaming... I just heard it crash and when I turned around the lorry had driven through everybody, there was so much blood everywhere, and people screaming for help." the witness sobbed.
"So did you see the man who did this?" Tate asked.
"Everybody saw, he wasn't hiding at all, he just looked proud of himself, or almost happy like a young child, he kept stumbling everywhere because he had banged his head. I don't know about anybody else, but he didn't look very lucid. At all, like he was on something..."
"Well Josh, thank you for taking the time to talk to us today, I assume everybody who saw this take place has been spoken to by the police?"
"Yes, we have."
"Thank you, New York, back to the studio."
The television then switched over to the screen from previous, showing another woman sat at a table with some files on.
"Multiple witnesses have all confirmed that the crimes today all took place within 2 hours, and all involved some murder of the public followed by "It was necessary... your welcome master..." then the attackers took a bullet to their heads. This has like said before been linked to the attack on a woman on the streets of New York City three weeks ago. The police have yet to step forward with a statement, however the public are getting angsty as the attacks seem to be just starting."
Loki stay in his seat as he clicked off the television and stared at the white wall just across from the sofa. Contemplating, questioning, wondering. He knew he would have to ask, but to accuse Rory of something and it be wrong, could cost him his life, however Rory had not returned home yet, and they were both present for the attack the weeks previous. It was a possibility, he knew that he just prayed she hadn't done it, whatever she was planning was dangerous and could get him caught. He knew the taunt of "It was necessary... your welcome master..." would be something she would do.
The God was aware that Rory was manipulative, with or without her power, she could cause this. The man on the television said the lorry driver didn't look lucid, that could've been Rory's magic seeping through him and frying his brain.
Loki prepared himself to accuse the woman of mass murder, the body count was 3 civilians murdered in the bank and the 2 attackers, the 2 men sniped and the 1 attacker, the 1 teacher and the 2 attackers, the 1 student and 2 attackers, the 1 male attacker at the lorry crash. The number rounded to 15 and there wasn't a confirmed body count for the victims of the lorry crash.
Loki didn't want to believe that Rory had just killed them because she was bored, though he still couldn't quite believe he was getting morals.
Throughout it all he knew asking wasn't going to get him his answer, she WAS too much of a good liar, but not asking and questioning would be naive of him, she was very much capable of causing such pain.
Rolling his eyes, he stood up from the squishy sofa and waltzed over to the fridge in need of some food, without food the God's magic softened and he became weaker, without his magic he then got weaker anyway. It was a cycle that could only be fixed by keeping his tummy full of nutrients. The cell he was in on Asgard he didn't get much food and so he was weaker, and the cell was made specially to suck all the magic out of him and reduce him to a human strength, lessening his chances of escaping.
Once the God had made himself a sandwich he returned to his seat in the living room, opening his book in one hand to distract him form the sadistic murderer he was currently sharing an apartment with.
Flipping through the novel once again after he had finished his food and felt restored, his eyes drifted closed to the sound of the clock ticking.
