Chapter 8

It was so dark when I finally decided to take a pit stop near the woods. There was so called animal sightings and wanted to video tape it. For the first time in what feels like forever I open up my video camera. The supposed small camera still felt big and heavy in my hand. I studied it for a bit as I lend on on my dad's bike. The old marvel stickers on it was peeling and some of them was just plain white and the characters were gone.

The crack on side of it made my hand clinch around it. Another painful reminder of my parents demise. I had it with me the day they died filming everything as we went in with the day. I remember not being able to touch it because the camera cought glimpse of the destruction. Uncle Charlie had to delete the hole video before I would go near it.

My thoughts were cut off by a pair of headlights. I used my hand to shield the the brightness from my eyes as a group of guys filled out. I didn't recognize any of them and that made my stomach turn. I threw my camera in my bag and backed up slowly as reached for my pocket knife.

"what do we have here? You lost sweetheart?" they were all clearly drunk. "you better back off" I growling as I heald my fist that held my pocket knife to my hip.

"she's got some fire boys" he got closer and that's when my knife flipped opened and held it out with the blade pointing to them. "lay one hand on me and I swear I'll cut you" I snapped.

They just laughed and one grabbed me from behind making me drop my knife. The third one kicked it away making it useless. I slammed my foot on the guy that was holding on his and threw my head back into his nose. It hurt like hell but at least I was free.

"bitch!" one grabbed my wrist and penned me to the ground I thrashed around on the concrete and started throwing punches. "I'm getting tired of you" he growled and penned my hands above my head making the concrete dig into my skin. I felt his hot and discussing breath on me.

His buddies laughed and incugged him. I sighed and threw my knee up kicking him in the crotch. He fell to my side and used that as my chance to run. "get that bitch!" on of his goons grabbed the coaler of my hood and held my off the ground and slammed his fist in my lip.

It had no effect as his fit made contact he wailed on pain as he dropped me to the ground. Another pro being a werewolf I guess. Before any of them could get any closer to me and different pair of headlights moved towards us like a bat out of hell. This time it was a white jeep. Emmett Cullen's white jeep to be exact. The guy dropped me on my ass and I stayed on the ground.

He jumped out seeping with anger. He charged at the one that was closest to me. He grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up from the ground. The drunk pawed at Emmett's massive grip and his lags shook. He slammed him to the ground and turned to the other two. They both backed up stumbling into each other. Before they could get to far he grabbed the one that broke his hand on my jaw.

"if any of you go near her again I'll kill you myself" he growled he pushed him backwards and he fell on his ass. They drove away waist no time. My enhanced hear forced me to listen to his chest heaving with anger. I curled up into a ball as I heard him coming closer to me. He knelt down in front of me.

"Shelby?" he said gently. His cold hand found my chin and he lifted it up. I looked up and my eyes locked with his gold eyes. I froze in place as I felt something I never thought I would.

I could feel My heart thumping in my chest as I felt gravity move around us. Nothing else matter but the two of us. I saw what could be a happy life with him. No matter what we had each other's backs through good and bad. We protect each other and I felt nothing but pure love towards him. His cold hand turned into something of a comfort mechanism and he was the most handsome guy I ever seen. The vampire smell the pack always complained about well he didn't smell to me and that really explained when he didn't bother my while the rest did.
