TW: Car crash, blood and injury, death

The past few days have been bad, but today really took it for Buck. There was a casualty at all three calls they were on today, and Buck was there for each one. One was a 15 year old in a burning house. Buck went in as soon as he could, but he was too late. Buck couldn't leave the kid alone to burn in there, so he carried them out, trying his hardest to be strong. A burning piece of wood fell onto shoulder hard, not burning him but definitely causing pain, but he ignored it. When he got out, he completely shut down, not talking to anyone except to apologize to the kid's mother. He was afraid she would hit him and shout, like Devon's sister did when he couldn't save him from his suicidal let go at the amusement park, but she just cried and thanked him for bring her child out. He walked away, knowing that if he stayed, his poker face would break. The ride back to the station was silent, as it always was after a bad call. Bobby went and made everyone lunch, however he couldn't help but notice that a certain happy-go-lucky person wasn't eating. When he didn't see Buck anywhere near the table, he went into the locker room, where he saw sitting on the floor leaning on a locker, legs sprawled out in front of him with his head back. His eyes were closed, but it was clear he wasn't asleep when he acknowledged Bobby's walk in.

"Do you need something? Or did I do something wrong..."

"What? Oh no, you didn't do anything wrong! I was just wondering if you were hungry?" Buck shook his head slightly before letting his head fall back to his chest. Bobby felt concern start to creep it's way into his chest. He didn't want to push the boy, so he left him with his thoughts, which later dawned on him that it probably wasn't the best thing to do in that situation. Bobby went up to see the others waiting expectantly, but he told them Buck wasn't coming. They all shared the same look, but ate because they all felt the hunger set in. When they were done, Hen decided to go check in on Buck, Ravi following behind her. He was in the same spot, but now his legs were criss-crossed, with his hands in his lap limply. Ravi sat down on the left of him while Hen took the right, sitting in the silence for a while. Buck startled them both when he spoke abruptly.

"Do you two need something?"

"Oh, uh no. We just came to give you some company." Ravi said, not mentioning the call, because he was afraid him might make Buck feel worse. Buck opened his eyes slightly and turned his head to look at Ravi with dull eyes, not at all like the ones Ravi was used to. He seemed to be searching Ravi's face for any hint of truthfulness, and when he found it, he sighed quietly and muttered a small okay before turning his head to face forward again and closing his eyes tiredly. Ravi gave Hen a worried look, and they stayed there until the next call.

After their shifts end

Buck threw on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. He's been feeling unexplainably angry for the past few days, but today's call really messed him up inside. He let out a yell of anger and grabbed his keys, walking briskly out to his car. He knew deep down that driving this upset was a bad idea, but he needed to go and leave. Where he would go, he didn't know, he just had to leave for a few hours.

Eddie was a nervous wreck. He had promised Chris that he would confess to Buck today, he even prepared a fancy dinner for it. He knew the call today must have really hurt Buck, he was going to reschedule the confession, but Christopher piped in. He said it would most likely make Buck feel better to know that he had someone on his team, someone who truly loved him, so Eddie had to do it today. Chris had a sleepover tonight, so Eddie had the rest of the night to prepare. When it was all ready, he called Buck. But he didn't answer, and the phone actually went straight to voicemail when he tried again. Eddie tried two more times before setting his phone down, anxiety gnawing at his insides. He knew he was probably overreacting, but Buck never shut his phone off. He debated for a while before hopping into his car and mass calling everyone. When they all picked up, Eddie started explaining the situation.
