chapter one

narrator pov 

" im fine really " hunter said to the rascal while rascal was pecking him " i think belos will be happy with the key for a while so for now we are fine 

hunter looked at his nightstand while still on his bed, it had his new mask and a few books, mostly study books to keep him busy one of them which was the good witch azura was at the bottom of of that stack, mostly to hide it from people

" hoping my punishment isnt that bad what do you wanna do? " hunter asked rascal. Rascal chirped and hunter replied " i mean, belos wont notice for an hour so i guess a walk around to wood would be fine- "  hunter then sneezed once and said  " a little cold wont stop me " rascal flew away from hunter's bed and landed on the stick ( going off from owlbert ) and before it dropped hunter caught it and flew out of the window

" it looks cool doesnt it " hunter said to rascal looking at the view that the slightly large tree gave, somehow hunter manage to climb the tree with coughing fits in between of each climb

rascal then chirped to hunter " im probably fine i get colds from the cold season anyway, " hunter coughed some more 

" fine i give in lets g- " before hunter could finish the branch started to crack and before the two got to process what was happening the branch snapped from the tree. Rascal was able to fly away from the 8 foot fall, however, hunter could not

hunter plunged down the 8 foot fall landing on his right foot and a sharp pain follow with the fall " ow- shit " hunter said with a raspy voice. Rascal carried the stick it used to fly off and set it down to hunter to used for support and that same sharp pain that came with the fall came throbbing back in hunter's right leg, luckily before hunter fell from the pain and nearly torn his blue sleeves, rascal landed on the stick and teleported back to hunter's room


when hunter collapsed on his bed he turned over and looked at the ceiling 

" a tiny nap sound nice now "

* chirp *

" mhm im going take one now..."












" golden guard..? " kikmora said, knocking on the door to hunter's room



"......"

" GOLDEN GUARD! "

hunter shot up and looked at the door " what do you want.."


" emperor belos wants you and hes angry so good luck~ "


" fuck..fine tell him im coming soon " hunter got out of bed to stand now looking for bandages but he suddenly fell dizzy but as stubborn as he is, he reached under he bed for his aid kit and pulled out for a stack of bandages and wraps around his right leg. He took his cloak and mask and booked it



" Hello golden guard.." belos said as hunter walk in and close  the door

" hello your highness " 


" take off you mask, please " 


hunter froze, belos still had his mask on which meant punishment time came right about the corner..

" yes sir " hunter proceeded to take off his mask, twitching a bit


" do you know why your here? "

" no s-sir "


" stop stuttering now, i just want whats best and you know that " belos  said walking  towards hunter

" you and me know lately your not doing your best... "

" punishment t-time? "

" first we need to get rid of this " belos slipped his hand into hunter's cape and before hunter knew it rascal came chirping out 

" You lied to me, and broke my one order, after every i done to you... you gave me a broke key " belos said softly gripping onto the bird

" WAIT PLEASE- LET THE BIRD GO I'll DEAL DOUBLE PUNISHMENT PLEASE " 


"... really? " 

" really.. i will.. "

belos set rascal free and grabbed his staff and held hunter who was twitching alot now

belos dropped hunter fast and before he could dodge it hit him


the zap hit him hard

hard enough to make hunter scream on top of his lungs, hard enough to make cuts reopen and for new ones to sprout

hunter's vision look blurry, very blurry to the point when rascal flew to him it look like a red blob came closer to him 

" this should teach you- "

when rascal saw hunter was on the fall of death it pulled out the stick out of hunter's cape and landed on it, with hunter holding on unsafely, the broom flew out of belos's thrown room with belos's screams but hunter could not hear the screams for he was focus on staying awake to pack,

when the stick crashed into hunter's room hunter crawled to pack things he really needed, mostly rascal helped with this since hunter took coughing fits, even coughing up some blood but rascal yet flew hunter out of the window when they both were ready
