The boys stood around debating what to do as Mari busied himself on Tim's computer. He had said something about it being a personal matter.

In the kitchen, the boys huddled around Tim's table.
"I don't trust him."

"D-do you trust anyone?"

Tim shot Toby an annoyed glare.
"Not the point. Listen, you can't kill this thing. I'm fairly sure since I've been dealing with it my whole life. No, he's messing with us."

Brian was watching Mari through the kitchen doorway.
"He seems honest to me. He doesn't come off as evil, just kinda crazy."

Tim raised an eyebrow.
"You said that about Toby too."

"And I was right."

At that moment, Mari spoke up from the other room, more to himself than to them.
"I found it."

They wandered in and looked over his shoulder. He had pulled up a digital obituary. He was staring at it with empty eyes.

James Maverick, age 10, passed away from cancer of the brain on October 31st. He is survived by his two loving parents, Johnathan and Donna Maverick, and his older brother, R̷̯̿ȩ̶̾d̴̙̔a̵̝͐c̷̦̓t̴͈͝e̶͆͜d̶͖̑  Maverick, age 18.

Mari stared at the place where his name should have been, replaced with a block of glitched text.
"She-"
He paused, his grief pushed aside as he noticed something.
"Wait, this says 2014, no, that can't be right. Because its only been three years since he died, I'm sure of it."
He was starting to hyperventilate now.
"I thought of all things, of all the things I had forgotten, I remembered when he died."

They watched as he broke down in sobs, Toby lifted his good arm and placed a hand on his shoulder. Mari responded by lifting his head, sobs subsiding.
"That bitch... is going to die."
