~Luffy pov~
5 minutes earlier.

"Where did everyone run off too." Luffy wondered as he hiked through a forest of tall lush trees. They were all supposed to meet at grove seventeen but a big bubbled cover up half of the number, leading Luffy to grove one instead.

"We were all supposed to meet here so where is everyone, and where is the sunny?" He looked around for any sign of the ship or his crew.

"A house?" He caught sight of a building off in the distance. 'Maybe they all went and had fun without me.' Luffy ran to the small house and dashed past the two armed men standing guard at the front door.

'Woah, It's way bigger on the inside, perfect for a party.' Luffy glanced around at the large gathering of people. Everyone in the audience had some type of mask covering their upper face.

"What's the deal, why isn't anyone talking isn't this supposed to be a party?" He uttered, a man with a black suit handed him a wooded paddle, the confused Luffy took it in his hands and the man walked away.

"This will be the last person that we will be bringing out for today's human auction." The man on the lit-up strange announced, Luffy frowned as he started to understand that it wasn't a party.

"Hold on to your masks lady's and gentlemen, the last one may be a human but he is a wanted pirate with a pretty big bounty's on his head!" His words struck Luffy's curiosity, he wondered who it was or if he knew the guy.

There was a faint sound of metal clinking as a tan, raven-haired man with a heart tattoo across his chest was walked onto the stage and sat in the middle of the wooden floor.

"This is a fine specimen, the one and only surgeon of death, Trafalgar Law!" His voice echoed through the swarm of people. Luffy's heart sank as he realized that he was going to be sold as some type of slave.

'Trafal-guy..' Luffy had met up with him a few different times, and they both felt a special bond starting to grow between them. It pained the young boy to see one of his closest friends be in such a vulnerable state. The way the Law stared down at the floor made him look mournful.

People started shouting random numbers while Luffy was stuck in his thought. 'If I don't do anything then he will be sold, but I don't have any money to bet.' Luffy dug into his pants pocket trying to find any loose change.

"Any other offers?" Luffy heard after he snapped out of his thought. He looked around and caught glimpse of the only person standing with a paddle in his hand. 'There has to be something I can do.' He pondered as he started to run short on time.

"Going once."

"Going twice."

"Sol-"

"Wait- I bid 800 thousand berries!" Luffy's voice echoed off the walls of the building. He raised his paddle high in the air as everyone in the crowd turned to face him.

Luffy watched as Law looked up at him. Luffy smiled at the older one and he could start to see the twinkle of hope shine in Law's eyes once again.

"O-Okay is that that final bid?" The announcer guy asked, Luffy and Law didn't break eye contact once, and everyone else in the room went dead silent.

"Going once."

"Going twice.."

"Sold! To the fellow in the straw hat!" Luffy could have sworn that he saw a soft smile grow on Law's face as he was led off to the back of the stage.
