Chapter 4 - Collar Trouble

~Law's pov~

'Why would he do that? That was a lot of berries and now I'm going to be in his debt.' Law groaned as he was accompanied by two guards that led into a different room.

Law was grateful that Luffy showed up when he did otherwise he would have been sold off to one of the celestial dragons. He walked through a door and outside he saw Luffy standing with a bright smile on his face.

"Torao!" Luffy exclaimed, he ran up to Law and embraced him in a strong hug. The older one couldn't hug back, the handcuffs prevented him from doing so.

"Why would you bid so many berries to save me?" Law asked, wanting an answer to his question. Luffy back off of him, letting his arms drop down to his sides.

"Because you're my friend that's why, and I don't want to see you get sold away." He chuckled, gazing up at the older one. "You scared me for a second, I thought you were a goner," Luffy admitted with a tint of sadness in his voice.

"Thank you, straw hat," Law uttered under his breath, making a slight tint of blush spread across his cheeks. He had never thanked someone directly for saving him before, it felt nice.

"It's no big deal, anyways let's get out of here I have to go meet up with my crew!" Luffy exclaimed as he started walking away. Law was confused when he said no big deal it was his life he just saved.

"Straw hat, I think you're forgetting something." He pointed to the lady that was waving a key in her hand waiting for Luffy to pay up his 800 thousand berries.

He stretched his arm taking the woman by surprise as he snatched the key from her hand. The guards pointed their gun at the rubber man and opened fire on him.

Luffy swiftly dodged the first line of bullets, he grabbed Law's chains that connected the cuffs and started speeding away as it took them a few seconds to reload.

"Straw hat, what are you-" Law was cut off by Luffy's arms wrapping around his mouth, as he jumped up into one of the many trees in the mangrove.

"Where did they go?" One of the guards asked as a swarm of them stormed out of the building. Luffy put his index finger up to his mouth, signaling Law to stay quiet as he unwrapped his arm from around Law's body.

They looked at each other for a few seconds waiting for the voices of the guards to get farther away. Law held out the cuffs as Luffy inserted the key inside, slowly turning it until they heard a click.

He removed the shackles from around Laws's hands and allowed them to be free. Law motioned to the collar around his neck and Luffy started searching for a place to insert a key.

After a few minutes of searching, Luffy pulled from Law with a concerned expression written on his face. The young boy shook his head side to side, he couldn't find a place on the collar that the key would go into.

"Look in the trees they must be hiding out in one of them!" A guard called out, Luffy wrapped one of his hands around Law's torso, holding him close as he use the other hand to swing tree to tree. Once they were far enough away Luffy sat Law down on the ground and he started to regain some of his energy.

"Trafal-guy, how did you get captured by those people?" Luffy asked out of the blue.

"Not sure really, I don't remember much before I was captured." He replied, he sat down on the grassy floor he wasn't sure what his next move would be.
