Fred x Hermione

It was the day of Fred's funeral.

The Weasley's, Fleur, Harry and Hermione were the only ones left after the event. Mr and Mrs Weasley were heartbroken, Ginny, Bill, Charlie, Percy and Ron were non stop crying but George was the worst in the family. He was broken and numb, everyone could see it.

Fleur held on to Bill, offering silent comfort. She was saddened by the death of one of her brother in-laws.

Harry felt guilty, thinking that it was his fault that Fred died. He held Ginny close to him and had an arm around Ron's shoulders in support, holding back tears of his own.

Hermione was blank. She was devastated at the loss of Fred. The one person who never failed to make her laugh with his rule breaking, who held her as she cried when she told him about removing her parents memories, he was the one she wanted to spend an eternity with. He was gone and she couldn't bring him back.

Mr Weasley thought that they should give George some space, seeing as it was his twin that they had lost.

The family agreed when he voiced his thought out and went to leave, but George called out "Hermione stays. The rest of you can leave."

Molly went to protest bit was silenced as the girl instantly dropped to his side in front of the grave.

As soon as they were alone the red head started talking. "You were the only person, besides me and Lee, who understood him. You saw him, not the prankster or troublemaker, but the pure side of him that cared for everyone. When he told me that he was falling in love with you, I didn't know what to say. I didn't know you all that well besides from being Ron's best friend, the bookworm, and one very terrifying little witch. I wanted to see what he saw, so I started watching you and I could see it, how he could fall in love with you. I could picture you and him together with a family of your own, Angelina and I would live next door with our own. You and Ang would be a force to be reckoned with because you two could rein us in and parent the kids at the same time."

Hermione laughed at the image he formed in her mind, she could see it. Hell, she hoped for it everyday.

"He had everything planned. The joint wedding, the house, children's names... all you had to do was say when and it would happen on time. I lost my twin and you lost your soul mate. No one can understand what we're going through, we have to stick together." The surviving twin finished.

Watching him breakdown, it made her heart ache worse. She couldn't say anything that could make it better. Turning to Fred's grave, she started singing softly.

Loving and fighting

George watched her silently.

Hermione broke down in tears and screamed in anguish. Her one true love was never come back. She had lost a part of herself and she would never be whole until they were reunited in the other life.

George held her as she let go. Feeling her pain and wanted to take it away. But he couldn't, neither of them could. The two of them would never be a whole again, until the met with Fred when it was time.

Unbeknownst to them, Fred watched the funeral and everything after. He wasn't alone though. James, Lily, Sirius, Remus, Gideon, Fabian and Tonks were with him throughout the whole thing. Practically adopting him into the family they had created.

All of them watched as Hermione lifted the necklace from her neck, hidden from the others as they didn't know about the relationship between the bookworm and  the prankster, and kissed the bit of jewellery hanging from the chain.

"Forever and Always my love. We'll be together again soon." Fred whispered to himself as his girl said the same to the engagement ring pressed to her lips.
