"That's it Caitlin, just a few more steps"
"Aahhhh" said Caitlin, collapsing into the chair
Caitlins bandages had come off and now the nurse was trying to make her walk. Caitlin was trying her best, as she wanted to be up and about but her legs were still painful and swollen
"Nurse, my legs. Why aren't they getting better? And why can't I walk?"
"Caitlin, your legs are still swollen. They need time to recover. The swelling needs to go down. As for your walking, your trying to push yourself to hard. Your trying to run before you can walk"
"But I'm tired of just laying around. I want to resume my life"
"Caitlin, I don't think you realise how serious your accident was, and how lucky you are to be alive. If it wasn't for your boyfriend, it would have been a lot worse"
"I know. I'm just not used to lying around doing nothing. Last time I was lying around doing nothing, I was in Barry's arms"
The nurse smiled. Caitlin looked mortified as she just realised what she had said to her
"Don't be upset. I'm a nurse. I hear all sorts of intimate stuff. That's nothing compared to what I normally hear"
"Still, I can't believe I said that"
Barry stirred in his sleep. He could hear someone telling him to open his eyes and get better, because she loved and needed him. He did want to open his eyes. That was the problem. He couldn't. Every time he tried, the darkness pulled him back in. The girl sounded really worried, so he was trying his best for her, but they wouldn't open. Who was she? Where was he? What had happened? Finally he gave one last push and managed to open them. He looked around
"Mum"
Nora came running
"Oh my sweet boy. Thank goodness that you are ok"
"Mum, what happened?"
"Don't you remember? You were in an accident. The doctors put you in an induced coma to let your body heal. They took off the sedation today and tried to wake you up. They'll be glad to hear that your awake"
Joe came back with the doctors. The doctors checked him over and said everything was looking good and left. Joe went up to Barry
"What were you doing in the house?"
"Looking for Caitlin. She had disappeared and her mum and brother were worried"
"Caitlin? How many times do we have to tell you to stay away from her? Every time that you are with her, something bad happens to you. We could have lost you"
"I'm fine, but Caitlin? Is she ok?"
"We don't know"
"What do you mean you don't know? Why not? She was injured too"
"We are more concerned about you, our son. Anyway, don't you remember what she did to you the last time that you were injured? How she left you alone and then blamed us?"
"I remember. I just want to know if she is ok"
"Why are you so worried about her? If she cared one bit, she would have come and visited you. We would have put our bad feelings aside, as she was hurt too. But no, she hasn't bothered once to come and see you"
Barry sighed. He should have trusted his parents when they said that Caitlin didn't love him. But still a tiny bit of it him hoped that they were wrong. But no. She couldn't even be bothered to see if he was ok
"Anyway iris will be thrilled that you are okay. She's been visiting you non stop. She really cares about you Barry. It's time for you to accept that Caitlin never loved you and that Iris is your future"
"Caitlin he's awake"
Caitlin leapt of her bed
"I need to see him"
Caitlin ran down the corridor. She didn't care how much her legs where hurting her, she just needed to see him. She burst into his room and saw him sleeping. She climbed onto him and snuggled into him. She felt an arm go around her
"Hello, I was wondering where you were"
"I had to wait for the cover of darkness before I came. Hope I didn't keep you waiting too long"
Barry wrapped both his arms around her, and was about to speak when the door burst open
"What are you doing here?"
