There it is

There it is. The Hughes company. It is a huge building made from glass; hence it is shining in the warm sun. It is stunning. I am standing in front of it and can't close my mouth, what probably makes me look like a child or an idiot. Probably more like an idiot. Trapped in my thoughts, that I was in London and going to work for the Hughes family, I don't realize that I was running late. Shit! Now I needed to hurry up. It is my first freaking day, there is no way I can be late today. As fast as possible, without running, I enter the company and make my way through the hall towards the elevators. Stressed I glance et my watch. Okay, 6 minutes left until I must be in the office. Suddenly I bump into someone. I stumble, trip and all my belongings, including my phone crash one the floor, causing a loud noise. "Scheiße", I mumble surprised, as I fall on my knees. I really should pay attention to where I was going. While I pick up my calendar, I rush to say:" I am so sorry, Sir. It was my fault and..." I meet the man's eyes. This guy was very tall, has dark eyes and black hair. He is dressed up in a black suit, his jacket hanging on his shoulder. With an angry face expression, he looks down at me, he blurts out: "Yes, it is entirely your fault. Watch your step dumbass!" "Sorry what?", I ask. I stare at him in shock. What did this guy just say? Without looking at me one more time, he walks past me and goes to an elevator. "Pass doch selber auf du Arschloch!"*, I yell after him. Bloody hell, what an idiot. Full of rage he turns around. He narrows his eyebrows. His dark eyes trace my body, while he gives me a threatening look. Then he locks his eyes with mine, clenching his jaw. My breath starts to get heavier under his gaze. Shit, what is wrong with me? I am standing there like an idiot, hoping, he didn't understand, what I just said. But he doesn't reply anything, just plays with a ring, he has on his finger. The man turns around and leaves the hall. I roll my eyes, on one hand, because I am annoyed as hell, on the other hand, so that I don't have to admit, that my legs are shaking. Oh god, now I really needed to hurry up. Why are elevators so slow, I ask myself. If I am late because of this jerk, I would get really mad I promised myself. Then I hear the relieving Bing! As soon as I step out, a woman comes up to me. "Miss Price?", she asks in a harsh tone. I nod. She is very chic, wearing a black skirt, which she combined with a white blouse and black high heels. All of a sudden, I feel underdressed, in my blue jeans, sneakers and the yellow T Shirt, with a little flower on it. What was I thinking? Oh yeah I remember: the flower has sunglasses, that's fun. My god. "Miss Price? Are you listening? I said follow me!", the woman repeats herself. "So, this is the floor, where u will be working. You will be Mr. Kos new assistant. We expect you to do your work properly, as Mr. Hughes has high expectations. Here we are: This is your table. Oh and... my Name is Jessica Thompson", she finishes her explanations. "Thank you, Miss Thompson", I said. She gave me a little smile, then she disappears somewhere in this huge office. I am overwhelmed. Unsure what to do first, I sit down, unpack my things. I take a deep breath. Okay, I need to calm down. This is just a job, like any other job I have done before. And let's be real, I did work in places that were way worse than this one. Maybe that is the problem. It is a normal job, unlike the others. Let's do this. First things first, I start the computer and log in, with the password that is written on a little note. Immediately I change it. And now? Maybe checking my E-Mails would be a good start. Jessica had sent me an E-Mail, that explained, what my tasks would be.

Get Mr. Hughes coffee in the morning

Present him the meetings and his duties of the day

Rearrange his daily routine, if he wants to change sth

Plan the next day

Drive him wherever he needs to go

...

And many more. Sorry, but to me this sounds more like a babysitting job for a grown man. Can't be too difficult, right? I stretch my arms, because I still feel so tired. The jetlag had made me sleepy. "Hey", I hear someone say. I snap my head around. A woman, I guess her around my age, smiles at me. "I am Elisabeth Goodwin. But you can call be Lizzy. And you?", she asks a bit shy. I smile back at her. She is really pretty, with her long hair and pastel pink suit. "Hi, I am Elaine Price. Nice to meet you new colleague", I reply. Lizzy smiles even bigger, when I told her that I am the new assistant for Mr. Hughes. "Really? Wow, lucky girl. You will see, he is so hot. When will you meet him?", she chuckles, while pulling her chair closer. She leans towards me and adds: "After you met him, please tell me, what you think, okay?" I laugh. She seemed so shy, but she is really nosey. Maybe she is my first friend in the company. "I will meet him in about three hours for the first time, as he has a meeting and I have to drive him there", I whisper back. She rolls her eyes dramatically and sighs. "Driving him to a meeting. Sitting in the same car...I can only dream of that". For a second we lock eyes, just to burst out in laughter together. Okay, she is really fun to be with. She explains me, that she needs to go back to work, but we agree to grab lunch together. When she had turned around to her computer again, I pull out my phone, to check if I got new messages or not. And actually, I got one. Laurent from Paris had texted me, to ask, how my fist day as going. I quickly reply that everything was fine, when I receive another message from Laurent.

"Sergei Kuznetsov gave us an information, that might be interesting for you. More later. Love you and don't screw up!"

Ugh, he was always so nice, it is amazing. But to be fair, if he had a meeting with Sergei and Paul Dubois, then it is okay for him, to be a bit mean. Caught in my thoughts, I sit there, Until I finally wake up from my daydreams. That is going to be a long day.

Finally the three hours of sitting there, staring at the screen of my computer and doing nothing is over. I grab my phone and purse, say bye to Sang-mi and walk to the elevators, where Miss Kim is waiting. Mr. Hughes office is on the top floor, together with two other offices of his closest colleagues. I take a deep breath, when I knock on that door. "Yes?", a deep voice says from inside. Miss Thompson enters the room, I follow.

*Hey you asshole. How about you watch out yourself!
