Chapter Eight : Freedom of Speech

I was beginning to get my sense of touch back. I could feel the bruising on thighs and the back of my head. I opened my eyes and found myself laying down in a hospital bed.

" Rico ! " I tried to yell but nothing came out.

I stayed there silently wondering what happened. The last thing that I remembered was getting knocked onto the floor. I heard someone come in and tried once again to scream for help but nothing came out. They walked back out and I was stuck listening to my trailing thoughts again. What was wrong with me ? Was I deaf now ? wait, no deaf couldn't hear... I just couldn't talk.

"Leslie are you awake ? " I heard a fimiliar voice ask. I nodded my head yes . "Okay, that's good ! Hold on ill go get the doctor!" Yea, like I was going to move. A couple minutes later, a nurse became visible in my eyes and removed a needle from my arm. As soon as she left I saw Ricardo walk in with Kian and Jc.

"Oh my precious baby ! Are you okay ? " Jc asked overreacting as always. I nodded my head and looked towards Kian , "Sam's been by your side the entire time you were out with hope you'd wake up. I finally convinced him to go home and rest" he said. Wait the entire time? How long had I been here? Ricardo saw thru my panic and began to talk , "You got a concussion when that girl pushed you onto the floor. When you got here you weren't responding so the doctors had to give you oxygen but your body would take it so they had to give you a shot that cut your voice chords for a couple of hours so it's not permeant. " I began to relax but still couldn't lag the feeling of having tubes stuck to my body.

The guys walked outside, Ricardo to talk to the doctor, Kian to calm down Ashley and Jc to go get food. Great Jc , way to worry about me ! Within 30 minutes Sam flew in the door with a bundle of balloons, a teddy bear, and a can of Raspberry Arizona. I felt him kiss my lips warmly and felt a smile begun to form on my face. He held my hand and I began to feel his tears drop on my hand. Slowly he began to talk , " I'm sorry, I didn't mean for anything that happened to be done. When I saw you there on the floor, I froze completely not knowing what had just happened. I just couldn't stand to loose you again. Not ever see you again, I know I promised not do anything to make you feel uncomfortable but I want you to be mine I need you to be mine. So please Leslie Arabeth Orideres... All I ask is one thing, be my girlfriend ? "

beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. My heart stopped and doctors rushed into the room pushing everyone out. I didn't know what would happen after I got out of here if I ever got out of here and frankly being stuck here was the only thing actually feeling good to me.

Later that night I was signed out of the hospital and brought home by Ricardo. The car ride was the most awkwardest ride me and Rico had ever had. It wasn't the usually laughing, cracking jokes, or blasting music. It was a lecture, from RICARDO ! Not only couldn't I take him seriously , but the medicine still hadn't worn down and I couldn't talk.So there I was listening to Ricardo talk to me about how picking a fight probably wasn't the best choice, even though I didn't start it.

As soon as Ricardo pulled up into the driveway I saw Sam, Kian, Jc, and Ashley standing outside waiting for me. Jc carried me inside because he thought I couldn't walk ( I was perfectly fine) and laid me down on the couch . The entire house was decorated with balloons and posters that said "welcome back home". I was in the hospital for 3 days !

Sam came to sit next me to and laid his head on my shoulder held my hand.

"I missed you " he whispered.

I still couldn't talk so I just kissed him on the cheek and held his hand tighter. Everyone tried to give me my space and stay way instead of filling me with attention. I liked my friends, they always thought of eachother before themselves. As I looked around I noticed someone was missing. Where was Jarrad ? I took out my phone and typed it on my phone "where is Jarrad? " and showed it to Sam. As soon as he read it his total face expression changed... He pulled me up and dragged me to my room.

I sat down on my bed and he began o talk," Jarrad was the one who told Jade we were out eating... Him and her have been hooking up for a while and when Eric found out he figured he could keep her if he showed how tough he was." He paused for a second and continued " Jarrad recorded Jade jumping you and posted the video on YouTube after he figure out he wasn't getting her back. So now you have hate for starting part of it but so does she... Point is people hate you because if it wasn't for you none of this would happen ..." Wow, never in 15 years of being Ricardo's little sister had I revived hate, and now within 5 days I had hate. Great Leslie... I logged onto twitter while Sam went to go get some food from the kitchen. I couldn't believe half the stuff people were posting; @its_leslie_anne I hope you get stuck in a coma and never come back ! @its_leslie_anne wow, you couldn't even stand up for yourself ? I bet she didn't even hit you that hard! Such a wimp, get a life and stay away from superkian13. Sam walked in the room and I locked my phone.

"Is everything all right?" He asked. I nodded my head and stole a piece of teriyaki off his plate. He smiled turned on the tv. We were watching a walk to remember when Sam began to talk. "Leslie, I know it's sort of weird and I already know what the answer is but I just need to ask you if you'd please be my -" I cut him off my a gentle kiss. I knew what the question was and yes I did wanna be Sam's girlfriend. "So is that a yes?" he asked.

"In every language...Oui...Sí...YES" my words came out.
