Chapter 12

The group was woken up, and taken into the gym. The whole school was in the gym on the bleachers. They saw three people kneeling with their heads down. Alex quickly realized who they were. It was the three from the sewer.

Oct taps on the mic.
"Students... it brings us great displeasure to announce that three of your classmates were causing trouble in the sewer system. They will be put in the school's dungeon, where all of the delinquents are. Since the damage has messed up our system, it will be a free day for all. You are welcomed to do what you please. That is all."

Alex was super lucky to get away.
"...do what you please." Echoed in Alex's head. He wondered if he could go back to the sewers. Maybe this time he can look for more clues about Oct. Where could he go? Oct wouldn't really be in his office now. Alex saw Rocky, Lonnie, Charlie, and Ling walking outside of school. Tom, Bonnie, Johnny, Amber, and Alexa were walking into the cafeteria.

Alex ran all the way to the office, surprisingly the school didn't have cameras. He slipped inside, and ran to the desk, slowly shuffling through paper, he brought his suit's gloves. Alex didn't find anything, but did see something peculiar about the name on the desk. The name plate of principle Oct. It said "October Maxerus"

"Those students will be kept in the dungeon until the school year ends." Oct's voice was outside the door. Alex looked for a place to hid, and saw a vent.

Swiftly, Alex crawled on the wall, opened the vent and crawled in.
"Look. The vault needs to be kept shut, and no students should be aloud to go in." Oct said. He was talking to a bald man in his forties
"October, I agree with you. Keep in mind that they have what you were looking for. Treat them with a little more respect. You should've seen how I defended my son, against that girl. Rex could've hurt her." The man remarked.
"I have to keep up the act." Oct said sitting in his chair. Alex backed away from the vent. "Act" Alex thought.

Alex found his way out of the vent system, and back into his room.
"Act?" What act? What did Elecktirs, Horn frog, and Blade boy have that Oct wants? What's behind the vault? Why were they even trying to get through anyways? "What ever it is I gotta find out...but I can't do it alone, or can I?" Alex thought.

They all went back to their rooms, and stayed up all night, to the next day.
Alex decided to sneak out again. He heard his sister and friends talking in the living room.
"Wizard Games are just a few hours away." Said Charlie.
"Nervous?" Bonnie asked.
"No he's not cause our training with Ling is really paying off." Rocky added.
"And he's got us." Lonnie joined.

Hearing the news made Alex happy that friends were ready, and he would cheer them on when the time came. However, right now he had to find out what Oct was hiding in the vault. Since sneaking out of the living room window wasn't an option, he snuck out through the bathroom. Alex found the manhole and crawled inside. He heard loud voices, and noise at the end of the tunnel.

Alex crawled on the ceiling of the tunnel. When he got to the location of the voices, he saw Oct, the bald man and a few other workers trying to open the vault door with their stregnth.
"MOVE IT! I HAVE A NEW ADDITION TO ADD IN THE WIZARD GAMES!!! GET THAT DOOR OPEN NOW!" Oct yelled. The door rolled into the left side of the wall. Alex saw a room inside. It had five pillars, and writing on them. Alex crawled quietly and closely, unseen.

One pillar had a picture of werewolves (a half man half beast looking creature). Another had a picture of pale people, a description below it said, vampires. The third one had a picture of dead people walking (zombies). Basilisk was the fourth pillar, and the fifth pillar was empty.

Oct walks up the fifth pillar.
"You sure about this?" the bald man asked.
"Like you said, I'm giving them respect." Oct said walking away from the pillar. Alex saw the picture on the pillar. It was a dragon.
"They came to mess with the games. So might as well help them finish. Let's go." Oct and the others left. Alex stayed behind and checked out the set up. He saw a map of the games, but none of it said where the players would be or going or what they need to do. Alex left the room and headed back to his friends.

"Where's Charlie, Rocky, and Lonnie?!" Alex asked.
"Oct came to get them prepared. There's a early preparation." Bonnie answers sitting the couch.
"Oh no." Alex said. "We gotta warn them."
"About?" Amber asked.
"Let's go!"

"So explain to me why we're here?" Alexa asked.
"Okay. I had a bad feeling about Oct, so I wanted to investigate. I caught those three students breaking in the Wizard Games room. I stopped them, then went to Oct's room. He's putting on an act, but I don't know what. He helped the three teens mess with the games. He added dragons."

"Maybe that's what the early preparation is for." Amber said.
"Maybe."

"The Wizard Games will begin in five minutes." An announcement echoed through the halls.

"Maybe not." Johnny said.
