The three soulmates were pressed up against the glass, eyes wide and shining as they ooh-ed and ah-ed at the little snoozing bundle.

Haneul had been cleaned, checked and evaluated. So now he was put to sleep alongside other infants in the NICU.

"He's so tiny..."

"Oh... just like Yoongi-hyung."

"You dumbass. He's not his child. Biologically at least."

"Ah- right."

Namjoon was with them, making sure they were not being a rowdy bunch. Of course, Jimin was there with them, and the two of them together actually do a pretty good job handling the younger two.

Joon had felt like the beta seemed more mature for his age, and he had wondered if it was because of his HF that he had to learn responsibility so early. Whether Jimin knew or not, he tends to play the big brother role, mostly towards the omegas, like him, Taehyung and Jin-hyung, but of course, the elder omega had some kind of leverage over him.

And Joon was the eldest in his family, but the beta made him feel like he could rely on him more.

"Do you think they would allow us to carry him?"

"Not for now, I think. They would need to do all sorts of check-ups on him. We'll wait till then."

A few hours ago, with reluctance, Hoseok and Namjoon got Yoongi home to freshen up and change, and once he was back, it was the soulmates turn to change as well.

The first thing that they wanted to see was the baby, so Namjoon had directed them to the NICU, while the two alphas stayed near Seokjin's ward for the doctor's statement.

"Yoongi-ssi?"

"Doctor..."

"Thank you for waiting. And you are...?"

"Hoseok," the alpha bowed, "A friend of theirs."

"Right. If it's okay, shall we meet up in my office? It would be much easier to run through everything there."

The two alphas nodded, and though Hobi wanted to stay outside just to give them privacy, just one look from Yoongi had him following in as well.

"So... I know what happened in the birthing room confused you. And I'm here to offer an explanation, if you want."

Yoongi nodded, looking a bit nervous. "What happened?"

"Seokjin-ssi had been too distressed for too long, we were considering surgery. We figured it's because he had no mate, which, by then, according to protocols, once the person giving birth has gone into their headspace, they are not fully conscious to make a proper decision. The ones who can are his immediate family. But knowing his history with his family, I didn't call them."
