💫 Chapter 03 💫

"This man..is ethereal!!"
- Lieutenant Jeon Jungkook -

Lieutenant Jeon Jungkook with other soldiers were trying hard to escape the civilians. Many houses were set on fire by the enemies. Many civilians were injured so badly. Many were already dead. But still.. They tried to save them.

"Lieutenant, our soldiers are not enough anymore. We have to retreat" minho screamed while panting.

He tried to wipe the sweat on his face. He couldn't walk properly because of the wound on his leg. It was bleeding so badly. Jungkook grabbed him and tied a bandage on his bleeding wound.

"We sent a lot of people to the East. But still there are some. We have to save them" jungkook said.

"Jungkook, it might be dangerous. We don't have enough soldiers. We have to give up on them" minho mumbled in pain.

"Lieutenant, Do not forget who we are and what our responsibilities are. We are soldiers. We were born to die for the country. For the people." Jungkook grabbed him and tried to comfort him. But even he knew this was a very dangerous moment for them.

Suddenly,

They heard a loud noise. They heard painful whimpers as they felt unbearable pain at the same time. They saw the fire that was burning nearby.

Lieutenant Choi Minhoo was injured badly. Because of the sudden mini bomb attack. After a few seconds, Jungkook tried to move while grabbing his wounds. Minhoo was laying on Jungkook while covering him. Jungkook felt a huge pain inside. Even the moment of fear of death, minhoo tried to save jungkook as a great soldier.

"Hyung!" He cried closing his eyes.

After a few moments, Jungkook heard some footsteps.

"Lieutenant, can you hear me?" An unfamiliar guy asked.

Jungkook tried to open his eyes barely and nodded.

"Please treat him"

Jungkook mumbled while pointing at minhoo.

Captain Park Seojoon and his crops reached the village a few moments ago. He was from the east camp.

"You are lieutenant Jeon Jungkook? Aren't you?" Seojoon asked while giving treatments on his wounded leg.

"Yes, captain." Jungkook tried to salute the captain.

"It's okay kid. Can you walk?" He asked.

"Yes, captain. I think I'm fine" he said back.

"Go back with your injured soldiers immediately. We will take care of this. I heard captain min yoongi was also injured. Our soldiers are not enough. But American soldiers are going to join us. So retreat for now. You can come back strongly." Captain Seojoon said while grabbing the younger.

Jungkook inhaled a deep breath and nodded.

"Hurry up lieutenant, just go" he screamed.

Jungkook carried minho on his back. He was fleeing with his survived and wounded soldiers along a very difficult path towards their camp.

They tried to keep walking continuously but it was not easy for them. Lots of soldiers were injured. They had to carry them. Some soldiers died on the way right between their arms. It was painful for all of them. They might be soldiers but they had emotions as well.

Jungkook allowed them to pay their last respects to the dead soldiers since they were the real heroes of the war.

They take time to their burials. No matter how dangerous it was, they paid their last respects to the war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country.

"Lieutenant, there is a river bank. Can we take a rest there?" Banru asked while panting.

Jungkook nodded. "Can't we find something to eat. We have to feed injured soldiers" he asked.

"We were able to find some fruits" Banru said back.

"Let's try. But please be careful hyung" jungkook said.

Lieutenant Choi minhoo opened his eyes barely.

"Jungkook" he mumbled.

"Hyung!! Are you alright?"

He nodded but he felt a huge pain on his wounded leg.

"Where are we?" He asked.

"Hyung, we decided to retreat. We are on our way to camp. Don't worry. Captain park seojoon came to save us" jungkook said back.

Minhoo nodded barely. He was so weak to move. He stayed still laying down on the cold floor.

"Jungkook!! Look!!"

Jungkook looked at the path banru had shown him. A skinny young man with bleeding wounds was running towards them weakly.

"Who is that?" A soldier questioned.

Jungkook walked towards the young man who was running to them at the moment. He took out his gun and aimed at the stranger. The weak man saw the gun aimed at him. But he didn't stop. He kept running towards that direction.

"Hey, stop there. I'll shoot you" jungkook screamed.

Weak stranger didn't listen to it. He kept moving towards the man who was still aiming at him.

Jungkook wanted to shoot him. But... Whatever the reason, he couldn't do that. He felt his hands shaking with the gun for the very first time in his life.

Young stranger came closere to the man who stared at him with his widened eyes.

"Who are you?" Jungkook asked surprisely.

The weak young man stared at him for a moment.

"Help me"

jungkook heard his deep voice and froze where he was.

Same time, he fell down on the jungkook's arms. Frozen young lieutenant was able to grab the falling young man and lean against his chest. He could hear the sound of his fast throbbing heart.

"This.. man.. is ethereal"

deepest somewhere of his fast beating heart screamed loudly making younger Lieutenant gulped at the moment.

Inhaling a deep breath, Jungkook kept staring at the beautiful young man who was still in his arms with his widened eyes.
